Jenny Bersola biography

Jenny (Giovanna Bersola) was born on the 20th of July 1972 in Catania. Her father Malick Babou Guèye comes from Senegal and her mother Katty Bersola, a model, comes from Sicily. Her younger half-brother Stefano Bersola is also a singer. She studied music during one year with Tiziana Ghiglioni, and was able to spend some time at the Berkley University. She also attended the Professional Music Centre in Milan. Her carreer began at the age of 15.

She is thought to be the real voice of Corona (for the first hit The Rhythm Of The Night) and JK, but also for Playahitty (The Summer Is Magic, 123 Train With Me) and a few other X-Energy projects. She was also involved in the Italian Jazz Band Funky Company as a singer, writer and producer (they have released an album entitled Tendency of Love and several singles such as Give Me Time Again) between 1993 and 1997. She also worked with Adriano Celentano, Lisa Hunt, Polo Jones, Rosario Germano, Arthur Miles, Mino Vergnaghi, Gordon Lyon, Katie Kissoon, Zucchero and many more...

Under the name of Jenny B, she released many singles as a solo singer and even won the San Remo award in 2000. The journalists wrote : "the portrait of the politically correct fairy tale of the Italian daughter of a multi-racial society".

In 2000 too, Jenny sang for another project named Tofunk. It was a powerful house track called Alright, released under Rise Records (a label of Time Records).

2001 : she collaborated with many projects, such as Simpson Tune, Funbeat, S-Sence and The Wikkamen Project. She released a solo single called Anche Tu, that she presented in San Remo.

2002 : she co-wrote and co-composed the single Love Is The Music, released under FR feat Jenny B.

2004 : In January 2004 Jenny B was part of the cast for The Corrida, as solist in the orchestra directed by Roberto Pregadio. Every saturday evening, she executed a medley of 4 hits of the '60s. Her voice was featured by the project Private Show for the single The Difference Between Me & You.

2005 - Jenny B. did vocals for Benassi Bros. feat. JB - Waitin' For You contributing the voice with the best mix of beauty and powerfulness it may show.

2006 : Jenny did a cover of the Italian song La voce del silenzio with Massimo Ranieri. She also performed vocals on To The Powerful, a track on The Invisible Session's album of the same name. She took part to the third edition of real-TV show Music Farm.

2007 : Jenny B appeared in the summer show Il Cerchio Della Vita on Rai 2. She sung 2 songs, a solo and a trio with Spagna and Nair. Jenny Bersola did a cover of the Italian song La voce del silenzio with Massimo Ranieri.

2008 : she did vocals on Solo Io E Te, a track on Marracash's album. With Dhany, she was featured by Favretto on a cover of The Rhythm Of The Night

2009 : Favretto released a single with Jenny Bersola called First Floor. She did backiing vocals on Culture Beat's single Your Love.

2010 : Jenny took part to the Festival della nuova canzone siciliana with the song Nni li to occhi.

2011 : Jenny released an album entitled Esta Soy Yo, an album gathering religious tracks on caribbean rhythms. She was featured on Rudeejay's cover of Marie-Claire d'Ubaldo's The Rhythm Is Magic.

Her vocals were featured on the Black Eyed Peas's single Ritmo
