Jerorr biography

Project Jerror was founded in 1991 by Russian producer Alexander Merkel (Александр Меркел) and features members Marlin Kalenda (vocals) and Sasha Pino (raps). In Russia, they played songs of their compositions as well as covers in weddings, concerts and discos. They started to gain popularity in their home country as well as among Russians living in Germany, where they finally established in 1993. They were at first known as Errorr, then as Studio Jerorr.

Their only single was a song in the Mo-Do style entitled Es Geht Los, released in 1994 under alias Errorr under A-Fair Records. It featured Jerorr kids and DJ K and had some success in Germany. Then they released a first album entitled Play in 1994, written by Yahia Turk and Alexander Merkel, which was initally a commercial failure, but became more and popular through the years.

Then in 1997 came Заграница, their first album in Russian, about life of Russian immigrants in Germany. It featured vocals by Lora Harder, Irina Merkel, Valentin Machleid and Alexander Merkel.

Project split up, and when in 1998 Заграница 2 was released, only Alexander and Irina Merkel remained. Заграница 3 was the most popular album of the series. Then in 2000 Alexander Merkel decided to stay solo, and released Заграница 4.

A 5th Заграница was planned.

Alexander Merkel created Jerorr Music Studio and produced young artists and projects, such as Scrash.
