Fish In Zone biography

Fish In Zone (פישנזון) is an Israeli eurodance group established in 1994 in Jerusalem by the 2 artists Ely Yona and Gili Stein. It featured 2 female singers : Odelya Dahan and Orit Koren, with whom Ely Yona had already worked with in previous productions. The project's name Fish In Zone is inspired from a character called Gadi (Gad-De) Fishenzon, from 1986 Israeli movie Alex Is Lovesick. At that time, eurodance was very popular in Israel and there was a big demand for eurodance songs.

Their first single was a cover of an old Indian song entitled Ichak Dana Beechak Dana. Success came with follow-up Feel The Rhythm, it was a massive eurodance hit from 1994 which rocked the charts in Israel and reached #1 there. The single also got lots of airplay in German radio stations but didn't chart.

The second single was another great eurojam. It was called My Old Way, and scored another big hit in Israel : #20 there. The third single Strength To Carry On was a eurodance song in Masterboy style which reached #1 in Israel

The album My Old Way was arranged, produced and mixed by Eli Yona, Gili Stein. Odelia sung on all tracks, excepted on Strength To Carry On, its hebrew version Baraka, and Hot Blood which were sung by Orit Koren. The abum was recorded and mixed at various recording studios : Creative Audio Studio (by Jeff Horovitz and E.Yona), Gal-Kol Studio (by Gozali), Eli-Gal Studio (by Hagai Zamir & Eldad Berman), and Volume Studio (by Roni Ben-David). Mastering was done by Gozali / Master Disc. The executive producer was Oren Kristal.

In 1996, they released the euro-reggae cover of Porque Te Vas, along with a videoclip. Then came 3 promo singles : Hot Blood (דם חם) that they performed on TV, No More and Good End (סוף טוב).

In 2000, several promo singles were released : Not Alone (לא לבד), Halom Mechushaf (Enchanted Dream) / My Old Way, The Innocence And The Happiness (התמימות והאושר), I Love You Baby (בייבי), Never Let U Go / השמש היא האור של העולם (meaning "The Sun Is The Light Of The World")...

The project finally disbanded after 2000 because every member was busy with their own productions.

2008 : Odelia Dahan recorded an album with the Yellow Submarine Ensemble entitled Solika
