Tuti Kanta biography

Tuti Kanta (real name Tuti Rusmini Kanta Zaini) was the name of the female vocalist featured by the project. She was born on August 14th in Prabumulih - South Sumatera (Indonesia). She moved to Jakarta where she was spotted as she was singing in bars. She worked as a studio vocalist and toured with live bands between 1981 and 1987. Not less than 6 albums and 2 singles were released. First single Madah Cinta was #2 at Best Asian Popular National Song Festival in 1983.

She arrived in Germany in 1988 to follow her German man, and from 1989 she did vocals in live bands and studios in Hamburg. In 1993, she met Rolf Kohler who made her record a cover of When Two Worlds Collide, but the single did not have any success.

Wal Wazil Wal Wa was written and composed by Thorsten Brötzmann who also produced it together with Peter Hoffman. The maxi contained 3 versions : Radio Mix, Club Dance Mix and Trance Mix and was published by TMV Wunderwelt. Released in 1994, it stayed #1 in Isreal's pop charts during 6 weeks.

The same year, she recorded Looking Out For A Hero with Kentucky Band.

In 1995 and 1996, Tuti Kanta sung choruses on Blue System's singles Laila and Only With You. She also contributed to another Dieter Bohlen project, Atisha's single Secret Of The Night. She also recorded some more eurodance songs, such as After Midnight and Rhythm Of The Groove, but they could never have been released...

2000 : she sung cover songs in Pfefferkörner, a TV movie that aired on German TV

From 2004 to 2010, she toured with Marcia Barrett as a member of Boney M. She also works as a vocal coach

2013 : she compted at Supertalent on RTL, but in spite of the fact that she received 4 "yes", her performance never aired. Maybe because of the fact that one of the jury members was Dieter Bohlen ?
