Touch El Arab biography

Touch El Arab was created by Philippe Olivier and started back in 1987 with the ethno-pop track Muhammar. The single was very successful at that time, but no other single followed. Philippe Olivier gave up the project in 1988. But 6 years later he decided, with the producer Alexander Friedrich, to release a new version of Muhammar. They found a female vocalist by chance : Diana Luiz was a student working in a pizzeria. She happened to deliver a pizza at their studio. Their production result in 2 great Eurodance tracks with a few samples of Arabic songs.

Starship Race was recorded and mixed at the Fort Vox Recording Studio, Bale, Switzerland. It was produced by Forward Phoenix Industries. It was mixed by Hoover, Monroe, Hyne, with assistance of Massias Meyer. Executive production and mastering by Carlos Peron

Before Touch El Arab they had recorded tracks under the name Billy Bordelli. They had some problems because they played nude on some gigs. Later Philippe Alioth recorded under the name Spartak where he made more Industrial sound, after that he got more techno/house related with Alexander Friedrich as Alioth & Friedrich.
