Tocayo biography
Tocayo is a project of the producer Brian Hope. He had been DJing for about 12 years and in 1989 and 1990 he won the Scottish heat of DMC mixing championships. In 1991 he went to Spain and Deejayed there for one year, then he came back home. His next move was to get into making music. The first song released was Shake Your Body under Tocayo then came Live In Peace (which had his brother play guitar on and a sample of Brothers In Rhythm - Forever and a Day, which was done leagaly). He also done remixes for Positiva Umboza and Spirit Records Aquarius and worked under the name Funk Fiction as well doing filter'd Disco trks. Right now he is still DJing as hard as ever and have some new material coming out soon....
It's Gonna Be Alright was written by Sybil Jeffries, Michael Delgado, Matthias Hellbronn & L. Powell. Sybil Jeffries was also the vocalist. Sarah Shields was featured on the single Show Me.
Brian also remixed tracks such as Umboza's Cry India. More recently, he collaborated with a Scottish DJ on the project Toxen. Together they released the single Gloria/Nightmare Walking.
