Ivana Spagna biography

Italian singer and songwriter Ivana Spagna was born on December 16th 1956 in Valeggio sul Mincio, Verona (Italy). Her father was Greek father and her mother was German. She started her career as a member and songwriter of Italo disco project Fun Fun. She also wrote for many other projects until 1986, when she started a solo career. Her first solo single was Easy Lady and it scored a hit throughout Europe. Then came Dance, Dance, Dance in 1987. Third single was Call Me and it was a huge hit. Her first album, Dedicated to the Moon, was released the same year and sold over 500,000 copies.

After the UK hit Every Girl and Boy and a dance-rock album, You Are My Energy (1988), Spagna moved to Santa Monica, California, and recorded her third album No Way Out which was released in 1991. The album was certified Platinum.

In 1993, Spagna moved back to Europe, and recorded Matter of Time, featuring the two successful dance singles, Why Me (#10 in Italy) and I Always Dream About You (#5 in Italy).

In 1995, after the release of her last dance hit Lady Madonna, #4 in Italy, she started singing in her native Italian.

2009 : in February she released a new EP Lola & Angiolina Project, in collaboration with the Italian rockstar Loredana Berté.

2012 : she published a new English language album, Four.

2014 : Spagna's new single was entitled The Magic of Love.

2015 : Spagna released 2 new singles called Baby Don't Go and Straight to Hell.

2016 : Spagna released a new song in April entitled D.A.N.C.E. For Christmas, she dropped a new single entitled A Natale Crolla Il Mondo

2017 : she published a book entitled "Sarà capitato anche a te"

2019 : Ivana Spagna teamed with Jay Santos on the single Cartagena. Ivana Spagna released 2 music videos from her new album 1954, for the songs Nessuno è come te and Prigioniera nel tuo nido.

2022 : Ivana Spagna and King Horus were featured on DJ Jad & Wlady's single Volevo tutto
