Vivian Sessoms biography

Vivian Sessoms was born and raised in Harlem in a musical family. Her whose mother was a session/jingle-singer, and her father was a flautist/percussionist. No wonder if she learned the wonder of music at a young age. As she was only 9, she had begun work doing television and radio voiceovers. She attended auditions for various Broadway plays, took lessons to train her voice and to learn the piano. Around the age of 16, Vivian began composing her own songs. She did a tour with with pianist/composer Ryuichi Sakamoto who taught her a lot. She appeared on several of his releases, such as albums Sweet Revenge and Smoochy Later she worked with artists such as P. Diddy, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Keith Sweat, Sinead O'Connor, Lisa Lisa, Robin S and Stevie Wonder.

She was the vocalist and co-writer for Austrian dance project Bingoboys only album. She was featured on Logic's single The Flavor Of Love that she also co-produced. She co-wrote Pia's Give A Little Love. Then she started collaborating on Towa Tei's 3 songs : Luv Connection, Forget Me Nots and Sound Museum. Then she started a fruitful collaboration with Chris Parks. Together, they founded a production company "Black Cherri", writting, producing and remixing songs for many artists.

1998 : she did vocals on Towa Tei's Butterfly.

2001 : she collaborated with Khani Cole on her album Lifetime, doing background vocals, co-writing and co-production

2002 : she did vocals on 2 songs on Junior Vasquez's album Earth Music 2.

2004 : she sung for ons song on David Morales' album 2 Worlds Collide.

2005 : she contributed to J-Henry - Another Long Day album

2007 : Vivian and Chris Parks released an album under project name Albright entitled Sunny One Day.

2011 : she was background vocalist on Dana Fuchs' album Love to Beg.

2012 : she did background vocals on Roberta Flack's tribute album Let It Be Roberta: Roberta Flack Sings The Beatles

2013 : she tours with a show entitled Diamonds Are Forever, a tribute to singers as Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick, the Fifth Dimension, Tom Jones, Lorraine Ellison and Tina Turner.
