LA Style biography

Producers : Wessel van Diepen (aka Delmundo, aka Maxx Mondino) & Michiel van der Kuy (Denzil Slemming).

LA Style was built around the dancer and songwriter Stanley Foort (aka MC Stanford), who afterwards quitted the project to begin a solo carreer. It was was fronted by rapper, singer, songwriter and producer FX aka Eazee F & The BFD (real name Frans Zid Merkx).

The single that started it all was entitled James Brown Is Dead. Wessel van Diepen did the vocals. This song reached the #1 position from the Dutch charts in October 1991, and even entered Billboard's Hot 100 Airplay chart. Later some other groups gave their reaction to this song: James Brown Is Still Alive from the act Holy Noise (a project from DJ Paul Elstak) and Who The Fuck Is James Brown? from Traumatic Stress.

2 albums and many hits followed. I'm Raving was produced, recorded & remixed by Denzil Slemming & Maxx Mondino. Featured vocalist were Nicolette Okoh, F. Merkx and Yolanda Soniga. Executive producer was Ray Decadance. It was originally licensed from Hi-Tension/Decandance Records. It was a hit too, leading L.A. Style to appear on 'MTV 'The Grind' and touring extensively all over North America, Asia & Europe with massive success

Balloony was produced, recorded and written by Fonny De Wulf. The, FX left the project.

Their single Got To Move was an awesome eurodance track. Composed by Denzil Slemming, Karin Nagi and, S. Tshiananga, it was produced by Denzil Slemming.

Magic Trip featured KC Zwaan and Karin Nagi. It was produced & mixed by Svan Maes & The Magic Tripper. Then the project split up.

Songrwiter and vocalist Karin Nagi later took part to singles such as Brothers In Crime – Fantasy Of Love, Mosselman - Opzij, Meridian - Body Number, Lonely Planet - Getting Around, Dutch Force - Deadline, Tazka - Your Eyes and Aura - The Chant. She released a solo single entitled History 2010.
