Jay Supreme biography
Jay (real name : Jeffery Carmichael) was born in Patterson (New Jersey) on 20th of August 1965. His parents are called Curtis and Pearl and he has 6 siblings. There, as he was a teenager, he created his own rap band. He wanted to become a vet, but he finally did technician studies and worked in telecom fitter. He came to Germany for his military duty in 1989. He left the army in 1991 to become Culture Beat 's rapper till 1997. He lives nowadays in Bossdorf near Francfort.
He is 1,80 m and weights 76 kg. He loves his Game Boy and clothes. His favourite artists are Paul McCartney, Genesis and Boy George. He admires Malcolm X. He hates racism, injustice and people that lack generosity. He says he is loyal and introvert. He admits he is sometimes ill-tempered, and hates being laughed at. He sometimes appears as a macho. He likes sunny weather and good food. He hates egoist, arrogant and dishonest people. He was a very good friend of Ray Slijngaard.
Since he left Culture Beat, everything became very silent around him. He took part to the hip-hop collective project Rappers Against Racism for 2 singles : Sorry (in April 1999, with Trooper, LaMazz and Lori Glori) and Hiroshima (Fly Little Bird) (in August 2000, with LaMazz, a tribute to all the victims of the nuclear bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki).
Jay also released a duo with the singer Cheryl Lynn, called Your Love (Encore), during Summer 2000. The song got a lot of airplay on the European hip hop radio stations
2002 : Jay Supreme released a single together with the group Project S.S.E. in 2002, called Under The Rainbow. The Maxi features 6 different versions of the song and a B-side called The World of Trance. An album entiled Trance 2 America followed in November 2003.
2004 : a promo single was released as G-Code Productions Ft. Jay Supreme, entitled All I Need.
Jay is said to be living in the Netherlands nowadays.
