FPI Project biography
FPI Project (Fratty, Presti, Intrallazzi Project) started releasing singles in the early 90s. The singles were released under ZYX and Rumour records.
The first track to be in stores was entitled Rich In Paradise, featuring the voice of Sharon Dee Clarke, produced by Aalgaard. There were remixes by M. Fretty, C. Presti, R. Intralazzi & L. Berry.
Then came Going Back To My Roots, a cover of Lamont Dozier, a socio-political track inspired in the 70s by the apartheid regime's treatment of Africans in South Africa.
After the success of these first singles, the F.P.I Project set up their very own label, Paradise Project Records (PPR), and in 1990 released their first track Risky
Everybody (All Over The World) included 4 mixes : a Dance Version, a Radio Version, a Dub Version and a B-side entitled Dancin'feet (Geronimo mix). Lead vocals were done by Tina Chris. All songs were arranged and perfomed by FPI and AALGAARD. They were recorded and Mixed at Garden Studio (Bergamo, Italy), published by Musicola Edizioni Musicali, produced and mixed by Marco Fratty, Corrado Presti, Roberto Intrallazzi, and Luciano Berry for Paradise Project Records, licensed through Miscola srl.
In 1991 the FPI Project team created a new project named TC followed by the release year, with Tina Chris on vocals. They released one single per year : the club hit Berry (1991), Funky Guitar (1992), Harmony (1994), Psychedelic Colours, and finally Just Get Up & Dance (1995). At this time, Tina Chris had been replaced by Sonia Davies.
Feel It featured 2 versions : Original Mix and Poison Mix. It was recorded, produced and mixed at Garden Studio by Mario Fratti, Corrado Presti, Roberto Intrallazzi, Luciano Berry for Paradise Project records, published by Pipierre Pub. Musicali / Dance Action Music, licensed under Active Music and Polygram Distribution in 1992.
Come On (And Do It) contained 4 versions : Official mix, Gipsy mix, T.C. Funky Mix and Radio mix. It was produced and mixed by Marco Fratty, Corrado Presti, Roberto Intrallazzi, and Luciano Berry at Garden Studio. Vocals were done by Sonia Davis, guitars were played by Marco Esposito. It was marketed and distrubuited in Italy by Discomagic
The '94 eurodance version of the single Going Back To My Roots was sung by Paolo Dini (Tahomy according to others), written by Lamont Dozier. This single published in 1994 included a re-release of Rich In Paradise. I was remixed by Dillon & Dickins.
All the early singles were gathered on an EP called The Paradiso EP.
The vocals on Yes We Could, out in 1995, were done by Barry Stewart and Joy Malcom.
1999 : a '99 version of Rich In Paradise was released.
2007 : there has been a coming back of the group for a huge request especially from the UK audience, doing some great live PAs in Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and many more. In the meantime the components have been continuing their producing and dj-ing carrier separately. Fratti worked together on several productions with Sharon May Linn, but also in a huge number of DJ sets throughout the main italian clubs.
2008 : F.P.I. Project are working on a double CD collection of all the old F.P.I. tracks and will include a brand new original release called So Everybody. So Everybody was available on vinyl in July. It featured vocals by Sharon May Linn.
