Jill Dreski biography

Jill Dreski was born Murielle Marie Andrzejewski in Liege (Belgium) on June 10th 1970, of Polish origin. From the age of 9, Jill, who has always been passionate about music, began her apprenticeship in classical piano at the academy while pursuing her primary and secondary studies in Belgium. At the age of 17, she began her studies in classical singing at the academy, and at 18, she entered the royal conservatory in order to deepen her musical knowledge and to satisfy her desire for musical perfection.

Upon taking her final exams, she received the conservatory's first prize in classical singing and also the academy's first prize in classical piano. She has participated in many singing and piano concerts in belgium. Although Jill  undertook this classical music training out of a desire for perfection, she never intended to make her career in this area. She had long dreamed of using all that she learned to enhance her voice. So, she wrote her music and lyrics and, with the little equipment she had available to her, she produced her own demos.

Jill loves soul music and, more generally, all songs that emphasise the voice. At the same time, Jill loves fashion and models from time to time in Belgium and abroad. She also used to work as a waitress.

Steve Bronski (Bronski Beat) received 3 demos from Jill and immediately decided to begin working with her. Very quickly, a true partnership was born. Lovers of harmonies and melodies, Jill and Steve were destined to work together and have also asked Mauro Farina and Factory Team (S.A.I.F.A.M. Publishing group) to handle the remix production. Her label was 21st Century Records.

Let Me Know was composed by Jill herself. The Factory Team Remix and the Radio Edit were produced by Mauro Farina, F. Serra and Johnny Mix. The Original Mix and the Master Mix were produced by Steve Bronski, recorded and mixed by Djoum and Eric Thompson at Swanyard (London).

Her single This Is My Time was composed and written by Jill herself, along with T. Bass and N. Ray. It was produced by Produced by Hottown Productions at Studio Garage in Belgium (apart from the Factory team remix which was, of course, produced by Mauro Farina and Factory Team). The CD maxi contained a completely different tracklisting : Radio Play, After Ambient Mix, Factory Team Short Edit and Heartbreaker (Piano Mix).

Heartbreaker was a cover of a song of the Bee Gees. It was produced by C. Wybouw & Brigitte Hubert. Keyboards & programming were done by P. Hamilton. It was recorded by Onadisc Belgium. The Factory Team Remix and Under Mix were produced by M. Farina & Factory Team. It was remixed by Big Mama Luchino at Factory Sound Studios in Verona (Italy). It was licensed in Germany under ZYX.

Summer Night City was originally a song released by Abba.

A first album was said to be in production. Jill had produced all the demos for this album, using her own music, lyrics, arrangements, etc. But nothing finally came out.
