Mary Crisci biography
Mary Crisci was born in South Italy on August 24th and raised in La Spezia. As she was only 4 years old, she used to sing everyday on the balcony of her home, and the neighbours became her first fans. When she was 7 years old she began to study piano for 8 years. When she was 16 years old she began to work in a recording studio. This is how she became the voice of eurodance projects Shalee (that she also co-wrote, strangely credited under the name Mauro Crisci), Bimbha and Nhose. She also contributed to vocals on Time Machine and Toro. She also recorded vocals for many other studio projects in the genres house, latin, pop, trance and electro.
In 1996, she became the frontlady of the project Hamyna. First single Balla-o Balla-o was quite successful in Spanish and other latin countries, so it was followed by another one (Cariño Mio (Anima Mia)) and a studio album entitled Ay Que Calor in 1997. She did some promo appearances on TV , but in November 1997 she had a severe car accident which forced Mary to stop during 6 month and put an end to the project.
As a background vocalist, Mary worked for many Italian artists. . She also worked for Double You, Daniel Ducruet, Tullio de Piscopo and more recently appeared as background vocalist on Zucchero's album Fly. Often under the alias Mary C, she collaborated with famous DJs Alex Neri, G. Bini, A. Bertolini, A. Voghi, Jack Floyd, Max Aversente and SaintPaul.
2000 : Mary started working with Franco Amato (from Double You team), doing vocals on the electro single B-Side Of The Moon by Secret Sound (Label Baby Records/Sony Music), which was released in Italy under Baby Records and licensed all over Europe under Sony Music (she was credited under the alias Nature)
2001 : she gave her voice to Estrella La Playa Del Sol (released under New Music International), a latin-dance song that topped Italian charts and was a radio hit. From 2001 to 2003, she made 3 Italian tours and many TV promotions with Alexia
Mary became a background vocalist for the famous Italian real-TV made girlband Lollipop. She also wrote This is the reason, one of the songs on their first album Popstars.
2005 : In the summer, Mary C as the lead vocalist of band Radiowave won the first phase of I-TimTour (one of the most important Rock contests in Italy). Their song Io e te, was written by Mary and F. Amato. Mary C also became lead vocalist of blues band Bluescream.
Currently, Mary C works as lead vocalist of blues band Hurricane.
