Lisa Cork biography
Born Indianapolis on October 30th 1969, Lisa Cork came from a musical family : her mother was a pianist and a composer, her uncle Carl Perkins, jazz pianist, was renowned in the 50's West Coast scene. She grew up singing in the church. She founded her first band in Madison High School in the 80s, called Lisa Cork & The Screws. She worked as a background vocalist for runner Carl Lewis. She joined SoWat, a band based in Houston in 1986. Brent Argovitz was another member of the band. Band relocated in New York, then split. She met her husband of 14 years, Jeff; an aspiring film maker. Lisa then performed and wrote songs with various producers in New York, including singing torch songs in a cabaret, while Brent Argovitz became the musical director for acts such as Haddaway, Taylor Dane and eurodance project the Real McCoy. He also toured with them on drums.
As she was working in a cocktail bar, Brent Argovitz asked her for an audition to replace Patsy as second Real McCoy vocalist.
She left Real McCoy in 1999. Later, she married Jeff Twiss, and is now known as Lisa Cork-Twiss. She moved to Austin in Texas. She became a member of a classic rock band called Deep Eddie. She also created vocal house project Glass Slipper with Bradley Telleria. She also works as a licensed massage therapist
Lisa likes jogging, bike riding, reading books, cooking and she loves to daydream. She wants to sing until she can't sing anymore and retire to her own private island.
2011 : she teamed with on project Feed the Kitty with James Hylands, and recorded single Black-coffee-m.
2014 : she released Universal Love Vibe with Glass Slipper.
2016 : she was featured by Black Magic Disco on single Better Than Alright.
2017 : she released Mighty Real with Glass Slipper.
