Anticappella biography
Anticappella was a very mysterious dance act signed under by Media Records. They began with the mainly instrumental track entitled 2 Square Root 231 including a vocal sample from Useless by Kym Mazelle. 2√231 (which equals 30, corresponding the size of a 12'' vinyl in centimeters) was a major hit in 1991 and even had its music video. Rodney Bishop - who would later become Cappella member - and Farrah became the faces and lipsyncers of the project, for the video and for TV appearances. Farrah was signed since 1985 under Pete Waterman's company PWL (the company under which 2√231 was licensed in the UK) by her manager Mohamed Siddiqui. Afterwards, Farrah released a promo single entitled Love Come Down.
Then came Everyday, Deep and I Wanna Love You (involving Lorenzo Carpella, Alessandro Pasinelli, Bruno Guerrini and of course Gianfranco Bortolotti).
Their most successful hit is with no doubt Move Your Body (with M. Castrezzati, A. Pasinelli, C. Maifrini, GFB, D. Leoni, G. Elmzoom, R. Overmann). Released in 1994, it was an awesome eurodance track featuring the rap of MC Fixx it. Vincent Kemper (maybe a dancer) was also said to be a part of the team. The vocalist was thought to be Ann-Marie Smith, the names of Jordan Bailey (maybe the frontlady for TV appearances) and Beverley Skeete (who also did backing vocals for Clock) were also mentioned. It was very successful in many countries in Europe and also in Israel where it reached position #24. A remixes CD was also released, including an XX Extended mix, a Bass Line Mix, a Magic Domingo Mix, a Techno Kingdom Mix.
On the Japanese compilation House revolution Vol.48 one could find the song I Need To Tell Everybody (Techno Club "B" Edit).
In 1995 and 1996, former frontlady Farrah released 2 solo singles, The Big Love and Together We Are Beautiful! (a Fern Kinney cover) under label Brightfire.
In 1998 Move Your Body was remixed in another style (house) and under another name : Boston DJ's - Happy People, produced by Dimas & Martinez, also producers of the group Nature. A very rare Anticappella album was released. It contained all the singles, plus some nice eurodance tracks, including Movin to The Beat which included a sample from Pamela Fernandez's Kickin in the Beat.. The same year, Get Faster was out. It was built around the same melody loop as Lil Louis - French Kiss
2010 : Media Records released digitally some of the tracks of Anticappella's album (Baby Today, I Need A Hero and Bring Me Down).
