Alex Party biography

Alex Party was a project of DJ Alex Natale featuring the Visnadi brothers. DJ Alex Natale was born in Italia in 1967. The songstress was Robin "Shanie" Campbell.

In 1993 they released a few house singles such as Alex Party, Alex Party 2, Saturday Night Party...

Success started with the single Don't Give Me Your Life, a song written by Shanie at a very low period of her life. The lyrics told the story of a woman telling her man that she doesn't need him anymore The song was originally an extended remix to the original Alex Party. The production phase was challenging, the hardest part being the assembly, once the vocals were recorded on tape. Every single phrase from the vocals had to be sampled individually and controlled via midi with an Atari computer. But the single was a great hit, reaching #2 in Israel, Ireland, Scotland and the UK, #1 in Italy and Australia, and #7 in Europe. A music video was produced to promote the single, produced by La La Land and featuring male dancer and actor Jake Canuso (Benidorm).

They continued with the single Wrap Me Up in 1995, also co-wirtten by Shanie. It was #1 in Italy, #6 in Spain, #15 in Finland and top-20 hit in both the UK and Australia (it stayed 22 weeks on the chart there). Then came Read My Lips and a Megamix, then Simple Things in 1997. In the summer of 2000 Alex Party dropped a new single entitled U Gotta Be. Another song, You Can't Escape My Love, was released on compilation only the same year.

They also remixed a lot of other dance artists such as Clubzone (Hands Up), Playahitty (The Summer Is Magic), Carol Bailey (I Can Make You Love Me), Right Said Fred (Living On A Dream), 2 Unlimited (Do What's Good For Me & Here I Go), the Outhere Brothers, Elastic Band, Gloria Gaynor, Jinny and Amber, Livin' Joy - Dreamer, Ti.Pi.Cal Feat.Josh - It Hurts & Round and Round, The Shamen - Transamazonia, Nush -U Girls (Look So Sexy), Reel 2 Real - I Like 2 Move It, Corona - Try Me Out, J.J. Brothers Feat. Asher Senator - Move It Up, Victoria Wilson James - Reach 4 The Melody, Bob Marley - What Goes Around Comes Around.

2006 : Shanie releasad a 2006 version of Don't Give Me Your Life as a solo track.
