Aso Mamiko biography

Businesswoman, former Japanese idol of the 80's, singer and actress Mamiko Asō (麻生真宮子, Asō Mamiko) was born Miwa Tajima on February 29th 1965 (or February 5th 1964) in Fukuoka (Japan). She made her debut in 1982. In 1984, she formed the group Asō Mamiko & Captain (麻生真美子&キャプテン, Asō Mamiko & Captain) with two dancers/backing singers, Kiyoko Kitazawa and Keiko Yamamoto, who previously accompanied the idol Iyo Matsumoto, and who would form the duo Be-2 after the group split up in 1987. Among their discography, they released a cover of Modern Talking's You're My Heart You're My Soul in 1985. Mamiko Asō then released two solo singles, and appeared in several television dramas ("Kasugano Tsubone").

In the 90s, she released three eurodance singles in Italy, the most famous being Drive Me Crazy To Love in 1996, reaching #21 in the local charts and featuring an uncredited male rapper. Rumors said the rapper was Neal A.D, aka Tony T (who also contributed to many other eurodance projects). But actually the raps were taked from the track Vocals II from the 1992 samples compilation Masterbits Climax 9 (more than 30 years ago it was confirmed that the rapper's voice actuelly belonged to Magic Affair rapper AK Swift). The 12" contained not less than 7 versions : on the A side of the vinyl a Charisma Mix, a Radio Edit, and a Japanese Version, on the B side a Club Mix, a Short Mix, an Acappella version, and a Japanese Voice version. It was produced by Biagio Puma, arranged by Danilo Ballo. Label : Great Dance records.

In 1995 she appeared in the movie "Burai heiya". The next year, she played a role in the movie "Secret Waltz".

In 1998, she formed her own company, TAJIMA, producing among other things her own italian wine

In 2004, Aso Mamiko recorded a new song called Your Lies, but in this new project she was called only Mamiko.

2006 : she released a book about Italy titled "Torino".

2010 : under her real name Miwa Tajima, she started a political carreer. She planned to run as candidated in the elections of July 2010.

Thanks to reBeL, Tony T, Garry H and Alex Capilé
