Verona

Hello Peter & Markéta! Peter this question is for you. Why did you choose the project name Verona?

The name of Verona is in accordance with the Italian city. I liked it and it seemed easy to remember. It's not as many think according to the maiden name.

Peter how did you start your music career? And you Markéta?

It is quite long. From my youth, I knew that I will pursue music. It all started in the club where I was playing as a DJ. It amused me to observe people and their reactions to different styles of music. Then I met a friend (DJ), who had already produced the music at the time and who then embroiled me in the world of music production.
Marketa : With Peter together. I was 16 years young :-) .

Are you a fan of Verona the eurodance band from Sweden?

This project does not exist presently. It was only a momentary affair, which was not inspiring for me..

Markéta, what was your previous job?

I have never worked. From 16 years old I have been singing with Peter and furthermore I am studying at college presently..

Peter, how did you meet Markéta?

We met each other at the competition, which I arranged. I was looking for a singer for project Verona. There I saw her for the first time and next week we met together in the studio.

Girotondo was your first single? Was the only song in Italian?

The song Girotondo is our fifth or sixth song. At the beginning of our existence we started with Czech production. The first song was a song called "By chance" (today it is already 9 years old). Why Italian? It sounded good, we wanted it to be something more exotic… distinct.

Can you define the genre approached by Verona?

Dance/pop music.

Who writes the songs?

Lately it's been downright teamwork. Earlier I wrote songs himself and Czech texts were written by our colleague and friend Viktor Dyk. An English text today writes Tom Malar. And as for contemporary music, we compose it in three that means me, Markéta and Victor..

Markéta, what is the story of You got to move on ? Does this track have a story?

This song is our first single in English. The text has no special story. The core is nothing else than love, trouble, relationships... Texts our singles always stem from created music. Tom (writer) has the wonderful gift (ability), that he achieves accurately capture the atmosphere of the song..

Markéta, what you love to do in your free time? And you Peter?

Marketa: I like cooking, exercises, I listen to music and a lot of time I spend with my boyfriend and family.
Peter: I go to fitness, I like playing football, I love nature, fishing, in winter skiing, in summer swimming in a sea. I like to spend my free time with my girlfriend.

Markéta, Do You Really Wanna Know ? To who is addressed that tune?

A lot of people do not know me in personal life. They do not know who I am, how I behave, what I like and what I do not like. Most people have only the prejudices... I think... in the first instance it is important get to know a man, so if you really want to know me.... :-)
This song is for all who want to know me :-) .

Last summer, Verona participated to ESKA Festival. Can tell a little bit of that experience?

It was an amazing experience and opportunity, for which much thanks. But it was not for the first time, we have played before the large audience. Polish fans are great, we like them and we look forward to them on each occasion. I must mention that the whole event was very professionally produced. We were honored to participate in this event..

Verona is preparing a new single or an album!? Can you tell more about that if is true!?

We have not published any album quite a long time. We have been really concentrating on a single production. Currently we are publishing a new single "Up to the stars". However be noted that we are not lazy and presently we are preparing two (I have to say very precious) songs. For foreign fans we are preparing a new album, which is already more than half finished. In Czech Republic we are going to release a new album next spring..

Markéta was into 90’s eurodance. Did you have a favorite eurodance band or artist? And you Peter?

Marketa: 2unlimited
Peter: Snap, ATB, Culture Beat etc. ..

Markéta, I know that you love to cook, what is your favorite dish that you often make?

I like to cook pasta, salads, typical Czech cousine, sushi and many others dishes... I cook every day. (In that case when I am not on tour of course).

Peter what is your future plans?

At the moment I would like to finish those two albums (for the Czech market and for the foreign). Otherwise, I hope I will be able to produce the Europe-wide hit at least once in my life :-).

A message for our readers and for your fans?

We wish everyone a great summer, lots of pleasant experiences of holidays, lots of love and of course lots of good music!
