I started music for quite some time now, mainly working on pop, gospel and chillout genre in different projects. It was only in 2004 that I thought it would be great to work on the 'dance genre' too.
Yes I did, here's how it all happened;
it's actually quite a funny story cause I didn't know many producers who did dance music at the time. So one day I googled the words 'Deejay looking for singer'and funny enough the first website that came up was Benny Benassi announcement that he was actually looking for a singer for a new project, I didn't even know who he was, believe me but I felt it was a good move and I replied sending my demo to his production company. It was not until I saw his video on MTV some days later that I realized how big he was! The rest of the story you already know... lol
Well at the time Put Em Up was recorded, I was working with the Offlimits team that was looking for a new single to release. Sannie Carlson wrote the song together with Igor Favretto and the minute I heard the song I loved it. I remember I went on vacation right after recording the demo for Put Em Up and all through my holidays I was singing 'Put Put Put them up' over and over and couldn't get it out of my head. Right there and then I knew it would be a hit.
Well the funniest might be that I was so nervous I couldn't dance to the song during the video shooting and so the video director actually had to put on other songs by other singers to make me dance, so in that video I was actually dancing to other songs and not' Put Em Up' on some scenes.
Well it's my last name but the first idea came from my former producer, they had many names but I guess 'Edun' was the best sounding and fitting.
Well Ferry Corsten collaboration was the same collaboration with Benny Benassi, they both worked on the track 'Who's Knockin?' and I was singer. There was no future plan after that song so I guess the project just faded away.
I'm inlove with life and all the opportunities it gives. I'm always looking for fun and ways to live life fullest. My days are surrounded by music, family, friends, flowers, food, relaxing . I am now more aware of what I want in my life than I was in the past, so I do all that makes me happy and try not to pay attention to negative events.
I discovered Tokyo this year and I'm so in love that I'm planning to go back really soon. It's really a beautiful city with so much to offer. The Japanese are very nice people, I learned from them. There is still one city I have not seen that is New York, I'm pretty sure I'll be visiting soon.
The 90's has been such an influence in my writing music. I was crazy about acts like Corona, Blackwood, Neja, Alexia, Whigfield, Crystal Waters, Living Joy, Cece Peniston and many more so I did not have a favorite just that everyone had something I liked.
Not really, we all have our projects so everyone is really busy I guess.
I'm releasing new songs this year and there is going to be a lot coming. I worked this last year on many songs, most of which I wrote and co-produced with my producers and songwriters. I have also a new single out on the 25th of Febuary which is a collaboration with Deejay L.B. One and me. Much will come in the next few months, I don't want to reveal it all now, but I promise you it's a new me!
No, I have never thought of that.
I listen to pop, soul and pop-dance music. I enjoy artists such as Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton and Anita Baker but I like discovering new artists too.
Oh yes I do, I love it when I'm free. I like Youtube, I watch anything from makeup techniques, hair styling to music video or shows. So I could spend a lot of time just watching.
Nothing, everything that has happened in the past is past and gone, all that I am today is the consequence of the past, so I would rather not focus on the past but look foward to the future with great expectations. This is what makes me love life!
I'm really excited about all that is going on around me and I have been lucky and blessed, now with a little more patience I will share it with you when the time is right. Sending you all the love and light you need.
