 The Underdog Project was created by the DJs and producers Steve Browarzcyk, Toni Cottura and Sahin Moshirian (aka DJ Shahin). Vic Krishna represents this project as singer on stage, completed by many other guest artists featured on their first album It Doesn´t Matter : Craig Smart, Choice, P. Suave, Terry, Shade, Carlos E. Harmon and Anthony Freeman (from the RnB-duo Jonestown) and even Toni Cottura (aka Tone) himself. Their music was described as a mix of elements of reggae, RnB, freestyle, and English 2-step.  Belgian singer Gene Thomas (real name : Gunther Thomas) was born on August 22nd 1972. He started his carreer as lead-singer for the Belgian band Ship of Dreams. In the second half of the 1990's & in early 2000 he was a part of the Belgian eurodance band XSession. Afterwards he went solo, steering for a more rock orientated style of music. Since then he has had several hits in his home country.

Joe aka Jacki was born in the US 1972. He took part in operation Desert Storm in the Gulf whilst
in the army. He then left the forces and began rapping with friends like
Rod D (Fun Factory). He became rapper for the project X-Pression in 1994, contributing to the songwriting as well. In 1995, he created the very succesful euro-rap project Down Low in 1995 with the rapper Mike Dalien. Producers were exactly the same team as X-pression : Harald Schubert and Daniel Gonschorek, along with Volker Lindner.

 Melanie Janene Thornton was born in May 13th 1967 in Charleston, South Carolina. She studied voice
from the age of six, played the piano and the clarinet and learned how to act
and to dance. She had long dreamed of a career in music. Her parents had a friend of a friend
who was a singer in Charleston. Even though she didn't get to go out and see
her, she saw pictures and heard them talk about her work and heard her talk
about going out on the road.When she was growing up her mother would listen
to Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack and The Temptations, a lot of the Motown music
artists. She would mimic the female vocalists she saw on TV or heard on radio. Later, Melanie financed her College studies with appearances in talent
shows and smaller band concerts. She frequented a club called The Peacock Lounge,
getting up and doing jam sessions when the live band invited people up to sing.
