Born in Detroit (US), Mackee Johnson started singing gospel in churches with his Mum at the age of 7. When he was 12, he founded a band with other young gospel singers, The Traveller Singers, touring worldwide. He discovered hip-hop at the age of 14, took lessons in New York DMC. He went to Europe, meeting Dee Nasty who taught him all the DJ tricks. Back to the US as he was 18, he was spotted by disco Studio 54 manager and became their resident DJ during 2 years. He shared the stage with Madonna, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Real 2 Reel, 740 Boyz. He then met Cash Money and DJ Tricks (DMC World champions) who helped developping his DJ technical skills.
