Composer, songwriter, producer and singer Dan Bălan was born on February 6th, 1979. He began to sing and compose rock music with band Pantheon. Then he founded rock band Inferial with Radu Buftea, Lupascu, Valentin "Vamp", Banaru and Petru Jelihovschi. They evolved to to pop-rock, but soon he realized that he needed to leave this type of music was not popular anymore.

O-Zone was founded by Dan Bălan and Petru Jelihovschi in January 1998 in Chişinău (Moldova). Both were members of pop-rock band Inferialis. Their first song De La Mine was released the same year in October. The project's first album Dar, unde eşti... was released in 1999. The same year, in summer,they did their first tour in Moldova. In December Dan wrote a Christmas song called Sarbatorile de iarna for the Christmas release of the "Tanti Ludmila Show". Since then, this song has becomed a national song for Christmas and New Year Festival and was played everywhere during this period in Moldova.

Moldovan singer Arsenie Todiraş was born on July 22nd, 1983. His mother worked as a doctor, his father as an engineer. He has a younger sister. His parents gave him the chance to decide his way of life all by himself, and his biggest dream was to become a musician... He started to write his own songs when he turned 15 and at the age of 16 he got involved in a Moldovan folk band named Stejareii. When he was 17 he started to take singing lessons with Russian opera singer Larisa Shulga.
