Gene Thomas biographyBelgian singer Gene Thomas (real name : Gunther Thomas) was born on August 22nd 1972. He started his carreer as lead-singer for the Belgian band Ship of Dreams. In the second half of the 1990's & in early 2000 he was a part of the Belgian eurodance band XSession. Afterwards he went solo, steering for a more rock orientated style of music. Since then he has had several hits in his home country. 2000 : Gene did his first steps in TV, presenting the show "Gene Machine". He composed and wrote Come To Me for Betty. He also co-wrote the singles Doo Be Doo and The Party Plane for DJ Peter Project. 2001 : he co-wrote a single for Kirenia entitled La Vida Es Un Carnaval, Si Si Si. 2003 : He married Kristel Verbeke (one of the members of K3 project) 2004 : he released the solo album Dichterbij (Closer). 2005 : Kristel and Gene had a daughter called Nanou. Gene released the solo album Evenwicht (balance). 2006 : Kristel and Gene had a second daughter called Lily. 2007 : Gene released a French version of his last album entitled l'Équilibre. 2009 : Gene is a back with a new album, this time in English : 2B next 2U. 2010 : Gene plays the main role in the musical Notre-Dame de Paris. In January, he shot a TV-spot for car Hyundai Free Mobility. In July Gene, along with Willy Sommers, appeared as a support for the campaign "Bloed geven doet leven" (blood is life) to promote blood donation.
