Tellus biography

Tellus is basically the Swedish producer Pierre J's one-man show, but if you take a close look at the credits you'll find that he often collaborates with various producers, songwriters and vocalists.

Tellus was launched in 1994 as a result of a chat between Peter Hartzell (Tempo Records) & Pierre J. The idea was to create an act performing commercial house music, with recognisable elements & samples from other songs. The intention was not to rip-off other artists, just simply presenting cool and memorable hooks with cool grooves. Pierre J has gradually developed this into a unique and swinging musical style... the Tellus style.

In '95 Tellus' debut-single Pump Up The Volume peaked at #4 on the Swedish Dance Chart and the act's popularity has steadily grown ever since. With eight Tellus-singles under his belt, and with 5 of them reaching top 10 on the Swedish Dance Chart, Pierre J / Tellus is now ready to take on the world with the debut album The Man With The Background (Tempo Records).

Tellus' singles have so far been released in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Italy, France, Brazil, Southeast Asia, Poland & Canada. More territories will follow shortly. Tellus is also available on video and at least 30 various compilations around the world.
