Steinberg biography
Members : Axel Wilhelm (aka DJ Axl) and Mario Koss (aka Ludwig van Koss). Both collaborated on other projects such as Formic Acid and Shape Dance. Records company : Arcade.
The vocalist featured on Energy was called Chantal Mc Laine (real name Birgit Knoll). Previously she fronted the project For Fun with 2 other members Ulrike Freund and James M. Garden. Her producer Maurice Mc. Laine was then inspired to begin a new project under another name in November 1996 when he heard of the competition of the firm VARTA (music prize 1996). Steinberg was born. This was where the new song Energy came from. It won a place within the ten best in the final contest ' altogether 5958 demonstrations took part. Moreover Arcade distributed their own maxi-CD with video clip. Due to technical reasons of distribution Chantal Mc. Laine had to be changed to Chantal Dupree.
The other singles were released as shape CDs under the label Pikosso records. Maybe it's the same project, maybe not...
