Simone Jay biography

Her real name is Simone Jackson. Born in America, she moved to Italy in 1993.

Her debut single Love is the Key in 1993 was produced by Roberto Zanetti on the DWA label. She also contributed to vocals on Ice MC's hit Take Away The Colour. Between 1994 and 1995, Simone Jay was vocalist for Netzwerk on the singles Passion and Memories.

She went back to her solo carreer in 1997 and signed under VCI Recordings. She released the single Midnight (that she produced herself with the help of Taleesa). Then came Wanna Be Like A Man, produced by Taleesa. Simone dedicated it to her family and especially Richard Clark Jr., Shantie and Richard Clark III. The single reached number one on the Italian charts on the 21st June.

The follow-up single was called Luv Thang. It was written by Taleesa, R. Baeli and Simone herself, the executive producer was Michael Corkran. 2 of the 3 versions were mixed by Mario Fargetta.

In 1998 she recorded Ready Or Not with DJ Dado.

In October 1999 she released her solo single Paradise, which was remixed by Eiffel 65. The same year, she recorded Good Times, produced by DJ Dado.

Simone released the following Give Me Love on the Planet Records label. Then she recorded the single Mum & Daddy, whose release was constantly postponed.

In 2001 Simone released Fallin In Love as Groove Station presentes Simone Jay.

Mum & Daddy was finally released as vinyl in 2003 under EMI.

2008 : Simone Jay released an album this summer under the name SiJAY. Produced by Marco Carmassi, it was entitled The Way
