K2 biographyLabel: Underground Records K2 is the name of the the second tallest mountain in the world. It is also a German project created by the producers Klaus Munzert and Flo Leissle. K2 was one of the most interesting and inventive dance acts. They proved to have many ideas and combined ordinary Eurodance with funny caribbean raps and German (bavarian) folk music. The project features the performers Nina Poethen (vocalist) and Martin Pelz (rapper). On stage, they were supported by 4 dancers : Nicola Prager, Jeanette Klein, Gabriele Niemann und Daniel Aminati (who would later become member of Bed & Breakfast). The single which started it all was Der Berg Ruft. The came Die Nachtigall singt. The same year they recorded the Christmas song called Weihnachten In Den Bergen. The track was released on the Bravo Dance X-mas compilation 2000 : they released a 2000 remix of Der Berg Ruft. 2004 : on the 24th of January, they released (once again !) a new version of their first hit-single Der Berg Ruft. 2006 : K2 released a brand new single entitled Watzmann, it's the bavarian version of Der Kleine Eskimo.
