Hugo biography

Hugo was at first a video game character used for TV shows (in France this show was named Hugo Délires, presented by Karen Cheryl). In Germany, someone had the idea the he could also be the hero of a dance song.

A first single entitled Hugo Rap was released in 1994 (with a B-side : Hugo Hop), composed and written by Neil Anthony Quinton.

Then, a maxi called Hoppla Hugo was out in 1995. It contained 4 versions : Radio Edit, Extended Mix, Dance Mix and Power Mix. It was once again produced, composed and written by Neil Anthony Quinton and published by Roba Music. There were also a compilations series : Hugo's Mega Dance. The same year, a single called I Know It's Heaven was released as the Hugo & The Witch.

Show Me The Way was released in 1996 under Metronome Musik GmbH in Germany. It was composed by Alexander Hawking (who also wrote the lyrics) and Sebastian Pobot. The maxi featured four mixes : Video Mix, Hugo's Mega Dance Mix, Wunderbar Party Mix and Ride Your Snowboard Remix. It's an uptempo, happy eurotune featuring a female vocalist called Judith Hildebrandt (no relationship with the Mr President vocalist)... and of course Hugo's German voice.
