Natascha Hagen biography
Natascha was born in Austria in December 1974. Her musical carreer started in 1979 when, as she was only a child, she took part to the TV broadcast Sing Mit, singing a folk-song. Then in 1981 she appeared in another broadcast, together with the Austrian singer Reinhold Bilgeri. Some years passed... and in 1989 Natascha took part to the Rudi-Carrell-Show, (broadcasted in Germany, Austria and Switzerland) where she performed Madonna's hit Like a Prayer.
In 1991 she took part to the preselections for the Eurovision contest. But her song Gebt den Kindern dieser Welt..., composed by former members of the group Joy, was not elected. The same year she released her first single, Rockabilly Mädel, a cover-version of Rockabilly Rebel. But it did not have that much success. Meanwhile, from 1990 to 1994, she worked for Sony, recording background vocals for various productions.
In 1993 she contributed to the song Die jungen Klosterfrauen in the TV show Elf 99. This song was a dance-version of the Grand-prix winner title of folk music An a Wunder hob' i glaubt. It was released as a single afterwards.
In 1996 she took part to the show Teleclubbing, in which she presented the Chippendales and also performed. This same year she signed a contract with the Spanish label Blanco y Negro Music S.A
Her first major breakthrough was You & You, released in 1997. It was written by Joan Enric Garde and Joan Vives, published by Actual Music and released by Quality Records. It reached #2 in the Spanish charts and stayed there several weeks. It was licensed to other countries including the USA, and remixed by producers for record companies, such as Todd Terry's label Warlock Records for worldwide export. This song was aired for a perfume TV-commercial.
The same year she released Calling You, a song that she had co-written. It was nominated best song in the field of "Other musical categories" by SGAE (Society of Authors and Music Publishers) and AIE (Association for Artists) in Spain. Also, it was signed under Sony Music for compilations.
In February 1998 she released a dance-version of the theme song from the motion picture Titanic, My Heart Will Go On. It was #14 in the Spanish charts for two weeks.
The same year her voice was featured by the project Space Airhon Bananas, on the track Crash Boom Bang : she co-wrote the music and the lyrics.
In 1999 she co-wrote the single Just Tell Me Why for Spanish Italodance singer Cassandra. Then in 2000 she co-wrote the singles Rien Ne Va Plus and Doobi Doobi Doo (Don't Be Shy) to the same singer.
The same year, came the track Sweet La La Love, that she co-wrote by F. Galera, R. Herrera, one of her best tracks. It was released under Vale Music and licensed in several countries.
Later she oriented her carreer to eurotrance. She took part to the German project Glow and won the VIVA-Contest 2001 with the song Every Single Day. In 2001 too, she released the single Que Sera in Spain.
2002 : the single Without You was released, still under the label Vale Music in Spain. It reached #13 in the spanish airplay-charts. She co-wrote with Ruben Herrera an album for the Spanish artist Gisela. She also started working on her own first album.
Natascha currently lives in Lustenau in Austria. She is fluent in German, Spanish and English.
2010 : Natascha announced that she was working on a new album, which would be released in 2011. She is also writing songs for other artists. One of her songs was 2nd place in the catagory "Pop" of an international songwriting competition.
