Garfield biography
Garfield is a German project of Metronome records, featuring a solo vocalist from London called Rachel Wallace (1,65m, born in 1971, born and raised in Hoxton, Shoreditch). Rachel had already scored some solo hits with I Feel This Way in 1991 and later Tell Me Why in 1994, which went #1 in the british dance charts in 1994. Rachel possesses a university diploma in marketing and management and worked until May 1995 in the British Ministry Of Agriculture. "It was not particularly difficult to persuade me to cooperate with the project. And Garfield brought me then also still unexpected luck" Rachel explains.
In the videoclip of Cool Cat, the single which started it all, one could see the famous cartoon ginger cat originally created by Jim Davis (who originally had the idea of creating a dance hit with his character back in 1991). Cool Cat, written by the Munchen team G & M Cope, was so successful that a remixes CD was released in June. It included a Radio remix, a Cool Summer remix and a Univers remix.
The follow-up single was entitled Party Of Love and an album was also released.
1997 : Rachel released a solo single entitled Why under Quench Recordings
1998 : Rachel Wallace released a new single called Intoxicate, still under Quench Recordings.
Paul Van Dyk & Saint Etienne did a cover of Rachel Wallace's debut single Tell Me Why.
2008 : Rachel Wallace and Sike recorded a new single called Lost In A Daze.
2009 : Rachel Wallace released a new single entitled Que Pasa. The single is a collaboration with DJ Cuto and DJ Melo
