Joan Faulkner biographyJazz and blues diva Joan Faulkner was born in Gary, Indiana (USA). She started singing at the age of 3, at her father's sides in a church in Chicago. She became the choir's leader as she was 14. She recorded her first song at the age of 17 and became assistant director of the State Choir of Indiana. She arrived in Europe in 1978 with her husband who was in the US army. She is called "The Voice". Her solo discography include the singles I Don't Wanna Talk (1986) and Groove Me (1991). She did vocals on BG The Prince of Rap's Wanna Be Free, on the album The Time Is Now. She also did vocals for Tokyo Ghetto Pussy (Everybody On The Floor (Pump It)) and Dee-Vah (Movin' Higher). She also collaborated to Loop Skate With Me, along with Melanie Thornton, Linda Rocco and ice-skater champion Katarina Witt.
