Fantom 2 biography
Fantom 2 (Фантом-2) project, featuring the rapper Roman Matiyash and the vocalist Olga Gretchko, comes from Ukraine. They had previously some success in 1992 with a project called Turbo Techno Sound. They released a video (for the song Dvoe) and 2 albums. The first one was called Zaryani Viyni ("Star Wars") and existed as a cassette only. It sold more than a million copies. The second one was released on CD and it was entitled Bez Kontrolu ("Out of control").
Roman used to live in the US. Then he came back to his homeland. He worked as driver for diplomatic cars in Lwov.
They also released songs that never soom to have been released, such as Починай which was a cover of Radiorama Cause The Night.
Project split up in 1999 after only 2 years of massive success during which they were compared to 2 Unlimited and performed on the same stages as DJ Bobo and the Bad Boys Blue. Olga left Ukraine to settle in Russia.
2017 : Roman Matiyash passed away at the age of 43.
