Brenda biographyBrenda Pretorius was born in Mozambico (Africa), then whe moved to in Italy. She got diplomas in piano and choral singing at a very early age, and soon started composing her own songs. She worked with Italian music industry's biggest names such as Antonello Venditti, Al Bano et Romina Power, Loredana Berte, Tony Esposito, Ivan Cattaneo, Nikka Costa, Mia Martini, Dario Baldam Bembo, and more. She appeared as chorist in TV shows for Rai and Mediaset channels : San Remo, Once Upon a Time Festival, A Rotonda sul Mare, Cantagiro and others. Brenda's first single was entitled Anymore, released in 1990. It contained samples from Vicky Martin - Not Gonna Do It. Then came Sky in 1992, which was arranged and mixed L. Spreafichi, M. Comis, C. Varola and produced by Walter Cremonini. The same year, she released Sotto Il Sole (under the sun) under her complete name. The next single was entitled All The Things I Like, it was released under the label Italian Style Productions / Steppin' Out Records. It was arranged and mixed by Sylvio Perrone, Alessandro Gilardi, Walter Cremonini. In 1994 she performed on TV show Massimo Ascolto, singing a duet with Massimo Lopez. The same year, techno single Macho yepa-yepa was a charts hit. She also gave her voice to TV themes and ad jingles, and also took part to movie soundtracks directed by maestro Ennio Morricone. In 1995 she was featured on Creador's Arriba. It was featured on Dance Mania compilation and was triple platinum in Portugal. In 1996 she released Come Back To Me. She was featured on single Desnuda, featured on compilation Maxi Dance, which was quite succesful in Brazil and whole South America. 1997 was a decisive year for Brenda's carreer : she changed her music style, and released an album in Italian, simply entitled Brenda for Vidisco Portugal. Album track Solitudine was used as theme for a famous telenovelas in Brazil, allowing her to gain a wider audience. She toured with her band across South America, Spain, Portugal and Japan during one complete year. 1999 : she recorded a cover of Crazy Heart, a famous song from the 60s. 2000 : changing her style again, she started composing and singing rock songs. 2002 : she did a pause to give birth to her son Thomas 2006 : she gave birth to ger second son Bryan 2007 : Brenda works now as a vocal coach. She manages opera singer Claudia Jordan, as well as a choir of 120 kids. She often appears in juries of national and international piano contests. Thanks to Alex Capilé.
