Yumm Yumm Biography

After scoring a huge European hit in 2004 as a member of group O-zone and Dragostea din Tei, Arsenium started a carreer solo. His latest single is an awesome dance track, ready to conquer once again Europe's dancefloors (and already doing big in Germany, with a #1 in Club Rotation Charts, and in Austria). Uplifiting melody, catchy chorus, international lyrics, the alchemy is perfect and you just can't get it out of your head. The maxi comes with a bunch of remixes for all tastes. A remix by Groove Coverage with the heavy distinctive sound. A remix by the Topmodelz (famous for their hit L'Esperanza), bouncy and reminding of Cascada. A Blogbusters remix, for tecktonik style fans. A Balkan mix which will make you feel like you're in a Kusturica movie. And, last but not least, the alternative mix, my favourite, which combines the best from the radio mix and the Topmodelz version.

DJ Roby Pinna's excellent Slave To Space was remixed by Al Deejay, in a version quite minimalistic in vocals, yet full of melody. It comes with a new remix of Missing You. Starting with a very romantic piano intro, the DJ G Emotion remix then explodes in a very nice dance Italo sound.

Copenhagen Bass is a Danish duo started in 2007, consisting of DJs Michael Hornung Andersen and Anders Bøgh aka DJ Duck, faithful contributor to the Encyclopaedia's news archive. Their first release, entitled So Sexy, is ready to storm the dancefloors. A very nice house track, mainly instrumental, with a cool catchy melody, a male sample and a few dreamy female vocals. You'll probably ask for more remixes... Let's wish them a lot of success.

After a 2 monthes of TV casting on Jim TV and an unbearable suspense, the name of the new Lasgo vocalist was revealed to the world : Jelle van Dael (whose name, by a stroke of luck, sound so similar to Ian van Dahl), would succeed to Evy. Fans kept on wondering : would Lasgo keep on with their usual style, and would Jelle be a worthy successor ? Challenge met. The answer to both questions is definitly yes ! The single comes with 4 versions (the radio edit and the original mix are my 2 favourites) and a colourful yet glamour video.

Lasgo Biography

One of eurodance's biggest name is back. Probably Captain Hollywood's more successful single, coming with not less than 7 new powerful remixes, and still with Nina's vocals. The radio mix is the closest to the original. The 2 Endless summer mixes are sunny and uplifting. The Belmond & Parker mixes carry a strong electro house flavor. The Scotty & Full gainer mixes are excellent hands-up tracks with a jumpstyle touch.

Captain Hollywood Biography

Originally released under Strictly Rhythm records, licensed under d:vision, this nice and danceable electro-house single features vocals by Dan'thony. Bingo Players are Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer. Chocolate Puma are the Amsterdam DJs Rene Ter Horst and Gaston Steenkist, often described as "the godfathers of the Dutch house scene".

German DJ Denis the Menace teamed with Big World to release this very interesting electro-house cover of the FPI Project classic (which was already a cover of a Lamont Dozier song, originally released in 1977). The single features vocals by Hamburg-based singer and MC Inusa Dawuda, wo already collaborated with projects such as No-tone, Swen G and Lichtenfels.

Last time we heard from S-sense, it was in 1999 with the single Gonna Get Your Love.
S-sense project is back with a funky/club track with a strong touch of house, production of Davide Riva, famous for projects such as Whigfield. The single features remarkable vocals by an unknown diva with a gorgeous and soulful voice. Coming with 7 versions, including instrumental and acappella.

Produced by Gambafreaks (one of the producers of Dhany's Dha Dha Tune, among others) and Robert-Eno DJ, 5 versions are available, plus a bonus B-side track entitled Kosmovegas. This is the 17th album that the BBB deliver since their creation in 1984. The album contains 14 + 3 bonus tracks as well as a booklet with lyrics. Produced by the French producers (Johann Perrier and Antoine Blanc, better known as MS Project), it features for the first time the new member Carlos. An excellent album full of very nice dance tracks and a few slower tracks, combining their classic Hi-NRG sound with the most up-to-date trands. It starts with the very catchy Still In Love, the current single, which sets the tone. It ends with Russia In My Eyes (gorgeous choirs) and the only cover song Those Were The Days, but this is not really over since we have 3 excellent remixes as bonus tracks.

The legend is back ! 4 years after Can't Go On Like This, we can enjoy a brand new Culture Beat release.
The sound was updated to the 2000 trends. This is a massive house track, with a strong beat and electro drill sounds combined with Jackie's beautiful vocals. All 6 versions available are very danceable. Even if I remain a huge Mr Vain addict, I really enjoyed it.

Culture Beat Biography

Fantasy Project consists of frontman and singer Andreas Steinberger, and his friend and music partner Hans Plöchl. They are no newcomers, since they already released a first album and several very good singles. They also appeared on many compilations.
Their new single is entitled Stay. It comes with not less than 13 versions ! Among them, my favourite : the excellent radio version, a true eurodance track. The DJ Deamon remix and the Chris Cute remix are bouncy hands-up. The DJ Carfil radio edit is trance.

A collaboration with singer TJ Fastor (who already collaborated by DJ Sanny and 4 Fantasy). The single blends lovely male vocals with a very nice and uplifting beat. Each of the 4 versions is worth hearing, because all of them has a a special, interesting touch. Hard to say which one is my favourite, maybe the Club version because of the melody... A transparent allusion to the famous social network website...

A dream come true for many euro and italo dance freaks : a duet of Sandy Chambers and Dhany. They joined forces on this new single produced as always by the Benassi Bros, not only singing, but also contributing to the songwriting. And the result, powerful and bouncy, is just brilliant. The single alternates between Benassi version (with their usual distinctive metallic sound) and interesting remixes by Diego Donati and F&A Factor, and ends with an acappella version.

Sandy vs Dhany Biography

For many italo dance lovers, she is THE voice. And for all eurodance fans, Sandy's name needs no introduction. She did vocals on a multitude of eurodance projects, from Corona to Netzwerk, from Cobra to Matisse, and also Aladino, Ancorah, Jhava, Chambre, Robey B... not forgetting contributions to Double You's most euro tracks.
Produced by the Benassi Bros, Play My Music, it starts with an Original radio edit, a pumping track which maybe reminds me a little too much of Cabin Crew's Star 2 Fall. The Minimal Chic 4 Big Room Radio edit is richer in melody. The trancy Beeside extended surprises by its clear, crisp beats and cristalline melody and its very special atmosphere. Sandy as always delivers outstanding vocals. By the way, Sannie Carlson (Whigfield frontlady) contributed to the songwriting.

Dhany Biography

After their first single Alone that I had the pleasure to review in 2004, we had to wait more than 3 years to hear again of them. Kandystand are back with their brilliant first album.

First remarkable thing : the album only includes uptempo tracks, which will surely thrill many dance fans. Among them, 2 versions of Alone, but also the excellent Everybody or the powerful Disco Queen, in total 10 excellent tracks.

All songs are enjoyable, combining catchy choruses and cristalline synths, to create an atmospheric feeling. Katy's airy voice, blended with a touch of vocoder effects, will take you to an unforgettable trip through eurotrance sound and groove.
