My 10 favourite oriental-flavored eurodance songs
Get enchanted by the charms of mythic Orient and 1001 nights. Here is a playlist for your next magic carpet ride.
#1
Cosmic Muhammar was released in 1994, it has no relation with ethno-pop track Muhammar that Touch El Arab released around 1988. And it is quite a hard-to-find single...
#2
A superb eurodance song to plea for peace in the world in several languages. Exotic and powerful, a real masterpiece released in 1995, featuring female vocals by Doretta Carter, and raps by Monder & Mike Neni. I had a crush on this one since the very first hearing.
#3
Bismillah (Let's Dance Together)
Bismillah (means : in the name of God) was produced by Koby Israel, Moshe Morad and Murad Ilan and featured raps by Eric 'XL' Singleton. It was recorded at Rheinkjang and Skyline Studios in Dusseldorf, Germany. Released under Total Recall, it was licensed in France under the label Atoll/Jonathan.
#4
This amazing eurodance single was produced and written by Axel Breitung. The female vocalist was, as usually with Breitung productions, Christiane Eiben. The single was maybe only released as promo.
#5
Another incredibly beautiful eurodance track based on an oriental melody, but coming from the cold... Featuring Anders Sandberg (also known for contributing to Rednex under the name Dagger) and female vocalist Jaana Sundgren, single was released along with a videoclip was filmed in location Jukkasjarvi in Kiruna in 1995 by Apollon Bild & Film, released by Warner Music the same year
#6
A real rarity from a quite mysterious eurodance project, almost impossible to find, it was written and composed by D. Fact, S. Lauren and H. Faklam.
#7
I'm Walkin' In The Sunshine
Walking In The Sunshine was composed by Matteo Bonsanto, G. Bianchi, V. Bolzoni, G. Di Grazia. This was Donna J's third and apparently last single, released the same year as her only album.
#8
Dam Dam Dam (Is The Rhythm Of Magic)
Producer and written by Udo Niebergall (Captain Jack) and Volker Weber, this was Fatima's only single.
#9
Like most Chipz! early songs, it was first released in the Netherlands in 2004, then 2 years later in Germany. It reached #2 in Austria, and #3 in Germany and Switzerland. Single came along with a video in which Chipz! defeat a magic lamp stealer in a fantasized Oriental city.
#10
Bellydancer from album The Return
Taken from Pharao's second and rare album The Return, a magic mostly instrumental track, dreamy and melancholic, featuring Kyra's enchanting voice.
#11
Toy-Box BONUS TRACK Prince of Arabia from album Toy Ride
Prince of Arabia, a nice dance tale about love, is a track from their second album Toy Ride.
