Just Over The Time (1992)

Ian Lex (Ryn O'Facchinetti) has been singing Italo dance for more than 10 years. He released many hits such as Blue Eyes (under High Energy label).

He joined SAIFAM in 1994. His voice was featured by 2 singles of the Heartclub project : Don't Go Breaking My Heart and Everlasting Love. Then 3 solo singles were released.

With no doubt the best of them was I Believe In You, with great male vocals, accompanied by a female backing voice singing part of the chorus. Actually the keyboards in the beginning of the song may sound too hard for some not-used-to ears, but the song itself is so great that these details can be easily forgotten.

Ian Van Dahl was created by Christophe Chantzis and Erik Vanspauwen in the beginning of 2000. Christophe Chantzis is no stranger in the Belgian dance scene... he was already involved in projects like Absolom and Astroline in the past. Their first single Castles In The Sky was an instant hit, no only in Belgium. In Germany it reached #2 in the dancecharts, it was # 3 in UK, and in the Canadian dancechart it got up to # 1 ! Last but not least they entered the American billboard charts (highest place #78) for a few months and they got into the Top15. Some remixes were made by German DJs like Tomasso Dedonatis (Watergate, DJ Quicksilver) and Wippenberg aka Olaf Dieckmann.

The lyrics of Castles In The Sky were written and sung by Marsha (her real name is Martine Theeuwen) a 24 year old Belgian woman born October 7th, 1976 in Neerpelt. But suddenly the record company and Christophe Chantzis decided they had to replace Marsha for the public appearances, despite the fact that Marsha was really motivated to do the performances. They first found Cindy but she was soon replaced because during live acts it was too evident she was only lipsyncing. Then came Annemie (real name Annemie Anne Francine Coenen) together with the dancers Jeanine and Diana. A new version of Castles In The Sky with the voice of Annemie has been made but until now all the versions that you can buy are still with the voice of Marsha.

Besides, Marsha performed solo her version of Castles In The Sky during a 3 months tour in America in order to prove she was the one and only singer. During her stay she didn't only perform but she also got the opportunity to work with a very talented team consisting of Justin Time, Russ Reign and Marino Bragino. This resulted in a new song called Distant Places, released under the name of LD 30 featuring Marsha X.

However the Ian Van Dahl project kept on. The follow-up single to be released was Will I, in 2002. The European release was planned for August and included a Pulsedriver remix.

The 4th single was entitled Try, it was released on the 24th of September in UK.

2003 : Ian Van Dahl will release in Germany a double A-side single with the tracks Secret Love and Try at the end of March. Then they started working very hard on a new album. In April six brand new tracks were almost finished. A new single was planned for release before the summer and the new upcoming album was expected for November.

2004 : I Can't Let You Go, the new single, reached #19 in German DJ Playlist in January. The follow-up was entitled Where Are You Now and it was released in Europe and the USA, excpted in the UK. There, Ian Van Dahl will release the track Believe on the 31st of May. The new album Lost & Find will be released a little sooner, on the 24th of May.

Where Are You Now peaked in the danish dance-chart as #35.

The follow-up Believe was released in September. Then came Inspiration, which went #1 in Belgian Dance Charts in December.

2005 : In January, Annemie and Evi from Lasgo did a tour together in Japan (they played in Tokyo and in Nagoya). The February, they toured all around the UK. This special tour was a success as they were still very popular in the UK. In March, Annemie started working on new songs together with Peter & David. The new Ian Van Dahl single, planned for release before the summer, will be a brand new single not available on their current Lost & Found album.

In November, the vinyl of the new single entitled Movin' On was released and the video was shot. The maxi followed in December. It went up to #3 in the Belgian Ultratop 30 dance.

2006 : Ian Van Dahl and Lasgo came to Brazil between 4th and 9th April. The show was announced as an exclusive battle between Evi & Annemie. Another part of this tour took place in the US in May and June.

The follow-up single was entitled Just A Girl. The videoclip was shot in Paris.

2007 : the Ian Van Dahl World tour 2007 started. In early July 2007, it was announced that Ian Van Dahl's third album was completed, but instead will be released as Annemie Coenen's solo debut album produced by Peter Luts.

2008 : Jens O. did a cover of Reason. Ian van Dahl does not exist anymore, Annemie is now known as Annagrace and her first single is entitled You Make Me Feel.

2009 : Annagrace's new single is entitled Let The Feelings Go, while her first single You Make Me Feel will be licensed in the UK under Hard2Beat.

Ice MC's real name is Ian Campbell. Born 22nd March 1965 in Nottingham in the East Midlands of England, he grew up in the area of Nottingham called Hyson Green (sounds like 'Ice n'Green'). His parents had moved there from Jamaica in the 50's along with a large number of their countrymen. They continued to speak their own dialect 'Jamaican Patua'. This it the dialect Ian always used for this rap parts.

At school his initials IC (Ian Campbell Esquire) soon got him the nickname ICE. He was good at sports and considered himself more manuel than intellectual, and left school at the age of 16 to begin a training as a carpenter. He did not enjoy the experience, so he hung around Nottingham for a couple of years until in 1983 he joined a group of breakdancers (the Rock City Crew, then renamed The Extreme Team) and started touring Europe with them. That is what saved him from delinquancy. One such tour landed him up in Florence and he decided to check it out.

During one year he worked teaching breakdance then, after wounding his knee, he started doing a bit of DJing. In his spare time he was soon rapping and improvising in local bars and clubs. He also made two promo records one for a Club in Rimini and one for a label in Florence.

In 1989 he met Robyx (Roberto Zanetti) the writer, producer and singer for now classic Italo-Disco group Savage. The same year, his first hit Easy was released. It was an immediate success and went Top 5 throughout Europe, #3 in Germany and also was very big in South America. The LP Cinema followed shortly afterwards and was also a big success. He toured throughout Europe including Russia and even Siberia, South America, and North Africa. Then came My World.

At first his image was of 'clean, next door guy'. From the second album, he got the dreadlocks Bob Marley Jamaican look. And his style turnd to eurodance. Take Away The Colour was released in 1993 and became a mega hit. Main female vocal was done by Jasmine with a contribution of Simone Jay.

Followed Think About The Way in 1994, awesome eurodance song, one of his hugest hits, 125.000 copies sold in France, # 5 in Israel, # 12 at MTV Europe. Then the excellent album Ice N' Green was released. It was Ian's biggest selling CD of all times (went Gold in France with more than 100.000 CD sold).

The next single was the brilliant It's A Rainy Day (released in 1994 too, #11 in Israel, #16 at MTV Europe). Alexia was the new vocalist, but at first Jasmine kept on appearing on stage lipsyncing.

Ice MC in private is a cat lover, he likes beer and adores soul music. Ian consideres himself as a very open-minded man. He works a lot and likes reading. In the first years of his success he only thought about having fun and partying, but now he admits he has became more mature. His favourite song is Jammin' of Bob Marley. He is a smoker and consideres it is a big weakness. He admires Martin Luther King and hates intolerance.

In 1995 Ice MC got in dispute with his manager, label, producer, agent, publisher and co-author Roberto Zanetti. Ian was was never credited for the lyrics he wrote for his songs. So he sued Robyx to get back the rights on his songs, and for a couple billion Lire. Ian Campbell got himself a new management and then a new label : Polydor Germany. He was probably almost gone when tracks such as Russian Roulette were released, in Sweden only.

In 1996 Think About The Way was featured in the famous movie Trainspotting, but Ian did not actually getting a penny out of it since lyrics of the songs were credited to Robyx.

After long period of silence, Ian released his new single called Give Me The Light in 1996. This brilliant track became an instant hit in the Euro-dancefloor during the summer 1996. This song was a joint production of Ice MC and the German group Masterboy. In August of 1996 Ice MC came his newest album Dreadatour, with new songs written actually by several different writers. Surprisingly, this new album was given different reviews, from raving to mediocre or even bad. Anyway, it was an excellent eurodance album with many hot, danceable tracks (such as Anything Can Happen or Never Stop Believing). In this album Ice MC presented his new image, lyrics with a political content where he was free to express his feelings. The new female vocalist was the Italian singer Valentina Ducros. Some tracks included backing vocals by Natascha Wright (on Freaky Flow) or Ina Morgenweck (on Nothing But Time).

Talking about it nowadays, he surprisingly regrets and explains : "I wanted to change my style so I broke my contract with Robyx and signed a deal with Polydor. After that, Polydor didn't want to take risks to change and forced me to work with Masterboy that were copying what Robyx created. So at the end I did a poor copy of what I did at the beginning. I did that mistake because influenced from people that were really inexperienced... Robyx is a very honest and nice person. After the Masterboy album I met him and became friends again. We have a great respect to each other right now"

Ice MC started his European tournee in France in the club 'Le Windsor' in Arcachon, on the French Atlantic Ocean. Ice MC and his crew really enjoyed the sound and lights effects in this club even if this place lacked a decent dressing room. The place was big enough just for Valentina, so Ice MC and Lupo (the keyboardist) had to change their attire outside… One might say that for somebody mentally unstable such the beginning of the tournee could cause frustration, however entire group was cool about it. He closed his performance in the concert with his newest single : Music For Money. Next stop was Toulouse.

The second single from the album Dreadatour was Music for Money. On the small screen scene Ice MC was filmed on location in Berlin for a walk on part in a TV serial called Trike due on air in Germany in April 1997. He also co-wrote two tracks for this program.

After 2 years of silence Ice MC came back in 1998 with the single Let's Take It Easy. Written and composed by Ian himself (with composer Vieri Ristori), it was recorded in 1997, in the Soul II Soul band studio in London. During the same periode, Ice MC recorded some demo songs which were never released. Among them : Thanx An Praises, Life's A Bitch, Vavavoova, Pick Up The Phone and Props To Hip-Hop.

Then the amazing eurodance song Energy was released, apparently on radio only...

Ice MC's hit Easy was covered in 2000 by Captain GQ. A Russian group called Come Back also covered Easy and Think About The Way.

2001 : Ian decided to return to England, to spend some time with his family, doing other projects. He needed a break : for a while he worked as a DJ and found new stimuli in writing. He was going through a bad patch, because of wrong investments and personal problems that forced him to find jobs away from the music scene.

2002 : At the end of the year he decided to return to Italy and to contact Robyx again. A compilation entitled Disco Collection gathering all his greatest hits from the DWA period was released.

2004 : Ice MC came back with a new haircut, a new label (Time Records, Airplay in France) and a brand new single entitled It's A Miracle. The follow-up was entitled My World. A new album was recorded : Cold Skool. Vocals were done by Michelle Weeks and Sarah Grimaldi. The same year, he became the father of a baby named Dante.

2005 : in December, the Dizzy Deejays released a cover of Think About The Way.

2006 : Frisco vs Ice MC - Think About The Way was released in the UK. The song is a faster remix with the original vocals and raps.

2009 : Ice MC will release a brand new track called Could You Be Loved. He was among the artists performing on the stage of I Love The 90s concert, in Hasselt (Belgium).

2011 : Belgian eurotrance artist Jessy recorded a cover of Think About The Way with DJ Rebel.

2012 : Think About The Way was covered by Groove Coverage. Ice MC continues his collaboration with DJ Sanny J. He was featured on 3 tracks on the EP he released in May : Move It, The Club and Fire. Pat Krimson also featured Ice MC on his new single Break Away.

In August, Ice MC released a new single entitled Out Tonight under label Dance WoT 4. New single features vocals by Giulia Gal and was produced by Keir Fraser and Marco Scocchera, who previously did the songs New Style 2000, Tarzan, Tell Me and Double or Quits, in 1996 on the album Dreadatour.

Voices Of Eternity (2001)

All has begun during a long drive to Italy. Producer Norbert Reichart had always been a great fan of old roman movies, such as Ben Hur, and he has always loved their monumental sound. He was always fascinated by the aura, the outfit and the way of living, which prevailed in ancient Rome. While Norbert was driving on the highway to the south, he grasped for his cigarettes. Suddenly the print 'Veni Vidi Vici' on the packet caught his eye. The idea to make a dancefloor song with these three words was born!

After having arrived at home, he immediately started working. The instrumental version was finished soon, but the vocals were still missing. This problem was solved by chance. Some days later Norbert met Manuela Ray in the disco Dorian Gray in Frankfurt. Legend says that Manuela, a girl from Vienna who was visiting a friend in Frankfurt, was dancing happy and lively to her favourite rhythm, and Norbert thought: 'SHE is the right one !'.

Then Norbert asked Manuela if she was also able to sing and instead of giving him an answer she turned round and went away; she thought he had wanted to give the come-on to her in quite a stupid manner! A lot of persuasiveness was necessary to convince her that Norbert was not joking. Then Manuela got interested in the whole story and two days later she was already in Norbert's studio: she listened to the instrumental version, read her text, started to sing and her voice was perfect...

After that Norbert begun the search for a suitable rapper, what turned to be a quite difficult thing. According to some sources, Norbert finally found him two months later in a very big disco in Budapest and his name was Paulo Martins, a portuguese rapper. Actually, first Imperio rapper was called Michael Harris aka "The Juice", and he had come from the US to Germany in 1994 as a GI where we worked in the kitchens, then he met Norbert Reichart. Before joining Imperio, he used to perform in groups called Cosmic Breakers and Fendis Five.

Single Veni Vidi Vici sold over 250,000 copies. It came along with a videoclip shot in October 1944 in Cologne, Germany. Apart from Manuela's vocals and Michael raps, it was also said to feature male vocals by Tyrone Vincent. Then came Quo Vadis, once again with a nice video shot February 1955 in Munich (Germany) at Bavaria Film Studios, on the set of sci-fi movie Enemy Mine.

The first album Veni Vidi Vici was released in 1995. All tracks were written by N. Reichart, except track V (Agnus Dei) which had been originally written by August Södermann (1832-1876) and revised by N. Reichart. It was produced, recorded, mixed & engineered by N. Reichart at NR-Recording Studios. All songs were published by EAMS Musikverlag. All vocals were credited to Manuela Ray & Michael Harris, nothing about a rapper called Paulo Martins (maybe he was just a dancer for stage appearances ? On early promo pictures, one could see 3 artists). Additional vocals were done by Tini Kainrath, John Freeman, Jahn Weib, Sara Valdemarin, N. Reichart himself, Bernd Taubel, and Lynne Kieran. Saxophone was played by Klaus Dickbauer, church choir was done by Union Chor Lambach, and strings by K&K String Quartett.

Manuela Ray and Michael Harris were also vocalists for another N. Reichart project : Decadance. They appeared on 2 singles : Latin Lover and Save My Soul.

Even though everyone thought that Imperio would remain forever with their original members, Paulo suddenly had to leave the group because of his dedication to his family and to his studies back in Portugal. The name of the new male part of Imperio was Lawrence Madia, a good-looking and talented dancer.

The new single from Imperio was first planned for Autumn 1998 and was regularly postponed. After the single the 3rd album would be released. Finally after more than 3 long years of silence, Imperio will be back on the 23rd of January 2001. During the MIDEM in Cannes, the new Imperio single was introduced to the music industry. Finally it's not Last Pharao as it was announced previously but a track entitled Voices Of Eternity. The faces of the project have changed too. Imperio is now making the video to the new single, the album is coming in May 2001.

Voices Of Eternity was to be available together with cool remixes. The project said they were just waiting for the approval by the record company, which was preparing a big marketing and promotion campaign. Actually nothing was ever released during the year 2001.

2002 : EAMS announced officially the return of Imperio, with new faces (2 boys and a girl), and a new single being prepared... Will we have one day the pleasure to see them back for good ?

Paradise (28th Aug 1995)

In'Sanity was founded in 1992 by producer Lars Janzik alias Larry Jones and Christine Scholl alias Christen Maria Sayer (Sister of the world famous classical singer Andreas Scholl).

After the first release It's A Shame (at this moment, the project's name was written Insanity), came Revolution (SMZ Records) and several concerts with the Swedish band Army of Lovers, the third single Only The Good Die Young (SMZ Records) became a club hit in Germany. The biggest success has been the remix of the fourth single Paradise (Pikosso Records) which reached 1995 the top 10 in several club charts and pushed the band in some German TV shows. The CD was the first triangular CD on the world.

All tracks of the single Paradise were written, mixed and produced by Lars Janzik at SMZ-Studios, performed by Christen Maria Sayer and Larry Jones, mastered by Lucky Jetson, published by Hammer Musikverlag, supported by Silent runner, Media Pool and SMZ, distributed by BMG.

1996 : Christine Scholl died in a tragic accident with 24 years, before her carreer really had begun. The last recording Dreams Never Die was never released.

Lars Janzik also produced several techno projects, such as Decade V (a solo project) , Base Scan, Technoline, Recall IV, Trust In 6 (these 4 were collaborations with Andre Fischer), Scrot (with B. Lasch).

Born on 20th of July in Göteborg, Indra Kuldasaar (this is her real first name : an Indian goddess that stands for the rain and war, represented a a three-headed elephant) is half Swedish, half Estonian. She has one sister called Jasmin, who is 3 years younger. Her father Jundo works in the solar energy industry, and her mother Emmi is a consultant in the same domain. When she was a child, she was obsessed by the idea of becoming famous one day. She had good results at school, studied aesthetics, and worked as translator because she speaks swedish, english, estonian, french and spanish. From the age of 3 to 12 years she learned classic dance but, due to a tendinous rupture, she had to give it up. Then she begun to learn eurythmics. She likes jogging, she usually runs more than 10 km per day.

Indra came in France in 1987 to follow his boyfriend Eric, a model who came to Paris. She really fell in love with this country : she stayed 6 months, came back to Sweden, then went again to France. She tried to earn some money as a waitress, a baby sitter, a figurant in TV series, and finally she worked as a model. Against her parents' opinion, she had some theater lessons (with Michel Galabru as teacher). She had never sung before.

She caught the eye of the producer Paul Taiclet while she was dancing in the discotheque Le Garage. He proposed her that she should record a single. She signed a contract at Orlando. Her third try, entitled Let's Go Crazy is the good one : she remains several weeks at the top of all the charts. The single was recorded with the help of the rapper "Punchy" Anderson, and Pascal Maton (who would become the producer of Lea Kiss and Norma Ray some years later). The singles Misery, Temptation, Gimme What's Real followed. She released the albums Temptation (recorded in Belgium, sold Gold in France) in 1991 and Together Tonight (recorded in New-York, once again sold Gold in France) in 1992.

In 1992, because she was to busy with her career of singer, she had to refuse a role in film with Michael Douglas. She also has been chosen by the Disney Studios to appear in video clips for Eurodisney.

In 1994 she went for the first time of her life in Estonia, her parents' homeland. She gave some concerts and met her aunts and uncles. A Best Of which gathered all her previous hits plus a cover of Claude François' Alexandrie Alexandra was released in 1994. It also included the singles Yesterday Is History (Tomorrow Is A Mystery) (which sounded a little bit like Culture Beat's hit Mr Vain), Hollywood and Save My Life. Both failed to make the French Top 50, but the album again reached Gold status. Indra entered the eurodance era.

In 1995, the album Anywhere was released : co-produced by several stars of Eurodance such as Axel Breitung and the Masterboy, it was the most eurodance album she has ever released. During the summer, she went on holiday in St Tropez, before a tournee in France and in Tahiti. With her friend Marie-Ange, she opened a decoration shop in Propriano (Corsica) called 'Les cadeaux d'Indra' (Indra's gifts).

The same year, Indra also participated on the Dalida remix album Comme si j'étais là. She did a rap on the track Jusqu'au bout du rêve... which is a remake of the classic Dalida disco anthem Laissez-moi danser (Monday, Tuesday). The song was planned to be released as a single, and a video made of archive footages from Dalida mixed with images of Indra's Gimme what's real video was even shown on TV, but the song finally remained only available on promo CD and 12".

1997 : after a break of two years, Indra returned with the single Message Fur You but it flopped.

1998 : Indra did some TV hosting work on the channel France 3 on the show "Ce soir, je passe à la télé".

1999 : after another 2 years of silence, Indra was back with a new album entitled U And Me. This album was dedicaded to her new boyfriend Guy Paillard, a model she met as she was member of the jury of a fashion meeting. But the lead single Never never spent only one week (#99) in the French single Top 100. She also sung a duo with the actor Micheal Damian (actor in the TV soap The Young and the Restless, in French Les Feux de l'Amour) entitled Reggae Life. In an interview, she said that singing was not enough for her, and that she had not given up her dream of becoming an actress. She explained that also would love to have children. Her recording contract ended with year 1999.

Indra is 1,75 m tall and weights 54 kg. Her eyes are brown and she is blond-haired. She loves to dance and to go to discotheques, cinema and museums. She also likes going shopping and is not very fond of economie. Her favourite designers are JP Gauthier, Azzaro, JC Jitrois. She loves animals but can't have any because she is allergic to animal fur. She describes herself as obstinate, optimistic, perfectionnist, ambitious, sentimental and sometimes shy... She hates jealousy. He preferate colours are black and white. Her favourite music are funk and rap, and she listens to Peter Gabriel, Prince, Madonna, Depeche Mode. She also likes watching Mylene Farmer's and Snap's video clips. Her favourite movies are Sister Act and The Big Blue.

She prefers very tall men (like the basketball player Hervé Dubuisson who has been once her boyfriend). She is vegetarian : she likes pasta, pizzas, cream pies, cheese and fruits. She makes up by herself, choses and decided everything concerning her TV appearances, and even wrote the texts of some of her songs. She used to share a flat in Courbevoie with her best friend then she bought herself an appartment.

2000 : we could have believed that Indra was back on the dance scene with a track entitled Love Game. But actually this is not the same Indra. Our Indra married Guy in Switzerland, and gave birth to a son named Ollie on the 4th of May 2000. But she divorced one year later.

2002 : rumors about a new single called Live Forever proved to be wrong. There were also rumors about a special limited Remixes album planned for the end of 2002. However Indra could release a new single called Movie Star, which also be the theme of a new soap to be soon broadcasted on French TV. In October, Indra did an interview for a Swiss newspaper called "Le Matin". She talked about her current situation (in the business as well as private) and her projects for the near future : she would like to to become successful a pop star like Kylie Minogue or Geri Halliwell... But she also said whe was still searching for a good composer.

In December she released a fitness package called "le Coffret minceur des suédoises" including a gym VHS and a body lotion.

2004 : Indra was preparing here comeback : in May, her Best Of album was planned for release, it would include 5 unreleased tracks that she had recently recorded in studio. In October, she took part to a charity week-end against AIDS during which she sung her old hit Misery.

2005 : time for comeback... Indra released a duet with the French artist Frederic Lerner, entitled Besoin De Vous (meaning Needing You), a ballad. On the single one could find Never Never as third track. In February she reached #51 in the French Top 50. A little later it entered the Swiss charts at #88.

She also recorded a charity song called Donnons-Nous La Main, only available on commercial download website.

On the 24th April, Indra took part for the second time to a welfare celebrities marathon in Nice.

Her follow-up single Oublie-Moi was in RnB style, sung in French and English. The single was produced by Dj Dem's and Tragédie, and was pretty succesful in France. It contained a B-side from the Anywhere album, Take Me Wide. It sold more than 25 000 copies in France.

2006 : Indra's new single was entitled Sois Beau Et Tais-Toi (be handsome and shut up). It sounded less r'n'B than the previous single, more disco-house. In April she took part to the French equivalent of the real-TV program "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here". She competed for the welfare association "Louis Carlesimo" to help ill children.

Indra was supposed to release a new single in late 2006 which was planned to be either another new song from the Indra album called A Cause De Toi or a brand new remix of her 1991 smash Misery, but it seems that those projects were abandoned and Indra focussed on some new material.

She got signed (with all the other artists produced by Orlando) under Universal.

2009 : Indra played the female leading role (a character named Catherine) in the theater play "Ma femme est folle" (means : my wife is crazy) at the Théâtre des Nouveautés in Paris.

2010 : Indra's long-awaited new album One-Woman Show was finally released under Mercury/Universal. Recorded in Stockholm, with the collaboration of the Forty 4’s and Vaccum, it contained 12 tracks, including the single Upper Hand (Sexy Mama). In June 2010, High heels and backwards has been announced to be the second single. Promos have been sent to radios and the song was remixed by 2FrenchGuys. However, the song did not make any impact on charts or radios.

In October 2010, Indra confirmed that she will be part of the French 90s tour "Dance Machine Génération".

2011 : Apart from her singer and actress carreer, Indra nowadays works for a coaching agency. She will be touring with the French theater play "Le clan des célibataires" from October 2011, where she plays the role of Léa

The band Infernal started up consisting of the members Søren Haahr, Paw Lagermann & Lina Rafn. They did the first single Sorti De L'enfer without any real plans of doing more. The song went on to become a hit in the danish clubbing scene, and the members had a great time working together. So they decided to do more songs and eventually an album.

The album Infernal Affairs as well as the singles Highland Fling, Kalinka, Voodoo Cowboy and Your Crown all enjoyed big succes in Denmark, and Infernal almost instantly became one of the biggest names on the danish dance-scene.

When starteing the preparation for their second album, Søren Haahr decided to leave Infernal and pursue the career as DJ he already had before starting Infernal. Later he also started doing solo things as Red$tar.

Lina and Paw continued as Infernal and soon got yet another big hit in Denmark with the single Sunrise, followed by Muzaik and the album Waiting For Daylight.

The danish version of the TV-show Big Brother had the year before gotten big succes letting DJ Encore do the themesong of the show, and they now turned to Infernal for the same. They did You Recieve Me which went on to become a big radio- and clubhit. At the same time Muzaik had become a hit in the clubs, and Infernal decided to rerelease the album Waiting For Daylight with a new name Muzaik and now including You Recieve Me and the next single Let Me Hear You Say Yeah! which became yeat another hit in the dancecharts.

The next album had a long way comming. Infernal had started doing a lot of writing and producing for other artists, and at the same time their chill-out tracks from earlier albums was starting to get succes on chill-out compilations round the world. Also feeling like doing something new, they did a lot of experimenting in the studio, they did a lot of tracks but couldn't seem to fit them together as an album.

A year or two passed and former band-member Red$tar now contacted Lina and Paw wanting help with a idea for a new single he wanted to do. Sampling from the old The Grid hit Swamp Thing they did Banjo Thing, and when it was ready for release it was decided to be released as an Infernal feat. Red$tar single and not a Red$tar single. Banjo Thing became a massive hit on the danish dancechart.

Working on with tracks for the new album, Infernal had some controversies with their management and record label. The album was delayed as the band had to find new management and record company. But it was worth the wait for both Infernal and the fans.

The single From Paris To Berlin should become Infernal's biggest hit so far recieving massive airplay on radios and going #1 on the dancechart in Italy, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Norway and Finland and #2 on the Swedish dancechart and the Scandinavian dance chart. It also went top 10 in France's sales charts and was the 3rd most sold in the UK in 2006.

So far the new album From Paris To Berlin has only been released in Denmark going top 20, and in Finland going top 50. And the new single Keen On Disco went #2 on the danish dancechart, #6 on the Norwegian dance chart and #15 on the Finnish and #6 on the Scandinavian.

The single Cheap Trick Kinda' Girl was #5 on the Norwegian dance chart, #19 on the Swedish and went #10 on the Scandinavian.

September : Infernal was nominated at the Nordic Musik Awards with From Paris to Berlin

November : Infernal released their new single A To The B. It entered the danish dancechart as #22. They released an international version of their album From Paris To Berlin on 28th November, with 4 new tracks on. They performed live at Club Aquarius, Pont du Château, France on 10th December. They have been nominated for danish television TV2-Zulu's Zulu-award for best danish hit (From Paris To Berlin) and best danish female singer (Lina Rafn).

2006 : Ten Miles was released in April. From Paris To Berlin continued its succesful career in the UK and Ireland when it reached the highest charts positions.

Infernal's new single Self-control, released in October, is a cover of Laura Branigan's hit.

In November they released their album From Paris To Berlin in Japan. A completely new tracklisting, coming with a DVD containing the video clips of From Paris To Berlin, Self Control, and A To The B.

2007 : Infernal released a new single I Won´t Be Crying to the radios. It will be out in January and it contains a sample of a Depeche Mode-track. The video was shot in Paris.

Self Control enjoyed 5 weeks as #1 on the danish download chart. They was also the only act to have 2 of the top 15 most downloaded tracks in Denmark in 2006. They were nominated twice at the NRJ Awards which took place in Helsinki, Finland, on the 19th January, but they did not win.

In May they finished their new video for their song Ten Miles.

After a re-release of Infernals album From Paris To Berlin in Denmark (a new version, including I Won't Be Crying and Self Control) the album this week is at #3 on the official danish album chart. It's highest position ever, and counting all three versions of the album released in Denmark it has been a Top 100 album on the chart more than 100 weeks in a row!

2008 : in February, the group announced they were approximately half way into the making of their next album. In May, in was completed. They are aiming for a release late 2008. The new single Downtown Boys was out in May. It reached the Top 5 single chart in Denmark the day of its release The video was directed by the Belgian Loic Maes, who had already direct the clips of Ten Miles and I Won't Be Crying.

So far, the album From Paris To Berlin has sold double platinum in Denmark with a #1 as highest position on the saleschart. The singles From Paris To Berlin, Ten Miles, Self Control and I Won't Be Crying all sold platinum in Denmark. Worldwide Infernal has sold more than 1,4 million singles and more than 300.000 albums.

Infernal's next single was entitled Whenever You Need Me. The music video was shot in New York in June, directed as usual by Loïc Maes. It was released on August 4 to exclusive members of their official website. An international release is planned.

The next single is entitled Electric Light. The videoclip was shot in Brooklyn, NY.

2009 : Downtown boys was nominated at DDJA 2009 awards. They did a big concert in May 6th, the show will be recorded and released on a forthcoming DVD named after the show : Live DVD Electric Deluxe Edition. The DVD will be released at the end of 2009, the concert will include a little acoustic part at the begining of the show

The video for the follow-up single Redefinition was released, as usual directed by Loic Maes. In June, they started their summer tour, 30 dates through Denmark.

Their album Electric Cabaret reached Platinum status in July. They went back to studio to start working on the following album. Concerning the style of the future album, all they know is that "we want it to be a little less feathers & sequins and a bit more jeans & T-shirt’ish", as they announced on their official website.

2010 : In March, Lina Rafn gave birth to a baby girl called Karmen. Infernal's new single was entitled Love is All. The video clip will be the first part of a trilogy. They already expect it will be censured by musical channels because of a few erotic scenes. The new album will be called Fall From Grace, planned for release on September 27th.

It all started when Birgitte Moe (24 years old in 2000) was going to audition for an other Norweigan danceband Devotion. Then she heard that Kjell Gabriel Henriksen needed a singer for his band, after a lot of hard work she finally convinced him to let her try singing. The band was at the time named Barbie-Q and consisted of three rappers and a vocalist. When Birgitte joined the group they changed their name into Infinity.

Their first album Www.Happy-Poeple.net was somewhat quite succesful. It went straight to #1 just after release selling more than 30.000 copies in Norway. In 1999, they did a summer tour in Finland and Norway.

The following album was planned to be Www.Sporty-People.net, the corresponding website had even been created ! But for some reasons, it had never been released (apart from one single called Boys And Girls or 1-2-3-4). Instead there was an album entitled Naked In The Rain, still featuring the voice of Brigitte, the same happy euro style as the previous one. The two singles from this album were covers of the old D.A.D. hit Sleeping My Day Away (also covered by Me & My) and Naked In The Rain.

In Summer 2000, they were said to have a hit single called Sunshine (When I Dance With You) featuring vocals by Duane Harden. Maybe it's the same project, maybe not...

2001 : Naked In The Rain and Can You Hear were released as promo singles only. Then came Sleeping My Day Away.

2002 : their forthcoming single was Hear Me Out.

2003 : 2 other promo singles were released : One More Chance (Na Na Na) and L.O.V.E.

2007 : Infinity were back ! On Saturday, January 20th, they participated in the semi-final of the Norwegian national Eurovision Song Contest (Melodi Grand Prix) with the excellent dance song Hooked on You, qualifying for the final in February. They were finally not selected.

Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu aka Inna was born October 16th, 1986 in Neptun near Mangalia (Romania), on the Black Sea. Her love for music was first encouraged and supported by her family. Her grandmother and mother were both occasional singers at local parties or night clubs. She took bel canto lessons with master Traian Broască. As a student, she attended classes at the Mangalia Economical Lyceu then attempted a degree in Political Sciences at the Ovidius University of Constanţa. Before turning 18, she auditioned to join the nationwide famous pop group A.S.I.A. but she was rejected in favor of soloist Alina Diana Crișan. Discouraged, she started a career as a household retailer at a small boutique in Neptun. In late 2007, producer Marcel Botezan came across to Inna while singing in the market and, impressed by her vocal ability, he proposed her a contract with Roton. She took the stage name Alessandra and recorded 2 pop-rock ballads (Goodbye and Sorry) produced by Romanian dance music producers trio Play & Win (Radu Bolfea, Sebastian Barac and Marcel Botezan). The songs competed to represent Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, but none was selected. She then changed her stage name to Inna and her producers decided to opt for house/dance style.

On November 12, 2008, she released her debut single Hot. The single went #5 in Romanian charts, then became an airplay success worldwide. Two videos were made for this song. Her second single Love was released on March 12th, 2009 and did even better, peaking at #4 on the Romanian Hot 100 in April 2009. It was was completed by a video shot in slow motion. Third single Déjà Vu, a collaboration with Romanian DJ and producer Bob Taylor, also smashed the music charts : it went #7 in her home country, and was also a major hit in Russia and Hungary. In the end of June, Inna won a special jury Romanian Top Hits Award for her top 5 hit Love. The same summer, Hot went #1 in Moldova, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Malta, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Hungary and Greece, sold over 40,000 copies and was eventually certified Platinum.

On August 6, 2009, Inna released her fourth single Amazing , a song originally recorded by Anca Badiu. The song went #1 in Romania and Bulgaria and at #3 in Russia, and entered the charts Europewide. On November 5, 2009 in Berlin, Germany, Inna won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Romanian Act. In Romania, at the end of 2009, Inna was named the "Woman of The Year" during the Young Talents Awards.

At the beginning of 2010, Hot peaked at #1 on the Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart and the UK Dance Chart. To support the Romanian release of her debut album Hot in March 2010, she released a fifth single entitled 10 Minutes without a music video. It only peaked at #18. For its international release a video was shot in London (England), directed by Paul Boyd. A deluxe version of the album was released in France and Spain (the French edition is entitled Very Hot).

At the 2010 Romanian Music Awards, Inna won the awards for Best Female, Best Album, Best Show, Best Web Site and Best International Artist, and performed her Romanian number one single Amazing, as well as her sixth single Sun Is Up. Sun Is Up won the EurodanceWeb Awards and went #1 Bulgaria and was top 3 in Turkey, France, Romania, Russia, and Switzerland. The music video was shot on August 24, 2010 in Marbella, Spain. It was directed by Alex Herron. The next single Un Momento, featuring Spanish DJ Juan Magan, charted in Spain and Romania. Inna started her European concert tour "INNA en Concert" in June 2011, with additional dates in North America and Mexico.

In 2011, Inna released the second album I Am The Club Rocker. 2 more singles were spawned by the album : title song Club Rocker (the name she gives to her fans) featuring American rapper Flo Rida, and Endless. None of the songs was a hit.

2012 : Inna embarked in her second world tour, the I Am the Club Rocker Tour on January 13. Between April and May she released not less than 4 new singles : WOW, Caliente, OK and Alright. Then came Crazy Sexy Wild (English version of Tu Si Eu). She supports association Bring The Sun In My Life to help women victims of domestic violence.

2013 : Inna's new single was More Than Friends, written and produced by the usual Play & Win team. She was also featured on Spanish DJ Brian Cross's new single Boom Boom. Her third abum Party Never Ends was scheduled for release Spring 2013 and it included a cover of La Bouche's hit Be My Lover.

Dance (1994)

Not to be confused with the Italian and the Dutch projects Inside Out. This Israelian group was established in 1994 by two Israelian Eurodance producers, Alon Levin and Tomer Glatt. Together with the female vocalist Didi they released their first single entitled Dance, which did a huge wave in Israel (where it reached # 10) and Spain. Afterwards the song was released in Belgium and Sweden in 1995 and did pretty well there too.

After that they released 2 more Eurodance singles : Lover (featuring Dikla Shahar aka Diki) which peaked # 10 in the Israelian chart and Will You Still (Love Me Tomorrow), a cover hit from a hit-song previously released in the 80s, once again # 10 in Israel. After that came the euro-slow hit but very beautiful One Last Thing. Featuring Dikla Shahar (Diki), it was also was a big local hit (# 2 in Israel) and was released in Norway and Germany and did well there in the dance charts.

After this single they disappeard until the year 1997. Then they came back with a cover version to Sash !'s hit Ecuador. Then they seemed to disappear once again...

2010 : Dikla Shahar released a solo single on March 15th entitled Fly Away. It was featured on a compilation entitled Perfect Colors.

Plastic Age (1980)

Human Cry (1999)
Let Me Love (1st Feb 2000)
Save As A Prayer (2001)
State Of The Nation (3rd Jun 2002)
Wild Boys (2003)

There are many projects named Interface, therefore it is not 100 % sure that all the singles were released by the same artist.

The project involved some great musicians that had been working since a long time with SAIFAM. There were (of course) Mauro Farina (keyboards, arrangements and drums programming), Paolino Nobile (aka DJ Scott) (arrangements and DJ consulence) ans Fabio Serra (Guitars and arrangements). They decided to form this band on 1998 when the progressive european style was becoming a very popular style of music all over the world. They took inspiration from artists like Sash! or DJ Sakin & Friends, mixing the progressive-techno style with eurobeat sound.

The first track they produced called Human Cry. It featured the UK female singer Juliet O' Brien (she toured with the Spice Girls as background vocalist) and the track has been released in 15 different territories all over the world (for instance licensed under Vale Music in Spain), also being included on the biggest dance compilations. It was produced by Mauro Farina, P. Nobile, F. Serra

The singles Human Cry, Dust In The Wind (a trance song produced by Factory Team, Mauro Farina), Let Me Love, Save A Prayer, State Of The Nation and Wild Boys (a eurohouse track produced by the Factory Team, which appeared on compilation 21st century vol. 4.1) were released by the Italian label Urban Zoo (SAIFAM).

Plastic Age was written by Alpha W. Synthoxx, the style was rather disco..

Interhit Records
Company

USA

In five short years, Interhit Records has established itself as one of America's leading independent dance labels. Interhit is dedicated to providing the best in commercial dance and pop music with a special focus on bringing international dance music to the US. Formed in 1994 by Jeff Johnson and Chris Cox, Interhit's first successes were the US Hi-NRG Top 10 hits Whenever You're Lonely and How Deep Is Your Love both by Jeff Johnson.

Soon Tonight It's Party Time by Outta Control took the label to another level hitting the Billboard Top 50 Dance Chart and enjoying radio play on over 100 US radio stations. Interhit then launched the DMA Dance compilation series in the fall of 1995. The impressive back-to-back successes of Interhit's first full-length releases - DMA Dance Vol. 1: Eurodance and DMA Dance Vol. 2: Eurodance took the label to new heights. DMA Dance Vol. 1: Eurodance has sold over 110,000 units since its release in October 1995. DMA Dance Vol. 2: Eurodance which hit the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart - has sold over 90,000 units since its release in July 1996. Late 1996 saw the release of the self-titled debut album from Canada's Outta Control, their Billboard Dance Chart hit Sinful Wishes and the festive compilation NRG Unlimited 1.

Early 1997 brought the release of the third volume of DMA Dance and it's single Take Me Away by international hitmakers Culture Beat. Carry On by dance legends Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder proved to be a big hit on both the Billboard Club Play and Maxi-Single Sales Charts. Carry On went on to win the first-ever 'Best Dance Recording' Grammy Award in February of 1998 - a true milestone for Interhit and an impressive achievement for any independent label. That summer Interhit released the critically-acclaimed debut album from Swedish superstars Sonic Dream Collective. In the Fall of 1997, following the launch of Interhit's new distribution deal with Priority/EMI, the label released a pair of Top 20 Billboard Club Play Chart hits by well-known European dance acts - Be My Baby by Cappella and Voo-doo Believe ? by Datura. The fourth and final volume of DMA Dance hit the streets that Fall along with compilation catering to the public's new found love of dance versions of popular hits - Mega Hits Dance Party Vol. 1.

As 1998 began and Titanic fever spread across the US, Interhit's timely release of Deja Vu's dance version of the Love Theme From Titanic - My Heart Will Go On led to the label's biggest sales success of all time. When the dust had settled, Deja Vu's single had hit #37 on Billboard's Hot 100 Sales Chart, #3 on Billboard's Maxi-Single Sales Chart, #58 on Billboard's Hot 100 and had sold a staggering 200,000 units. The hits kept coming with Natalie Browne's Torn, Thunderpuss 2000's Godzilla and Rapport's To Love You More which all spent multiple weeks on the Billboard Hot Dance Maxi-Single Sales Chart. In fact, during several weeks in 1998, Interhit lay claim to a 10% share of the Billboard Maxi-Single Sales Top 40. Mega Hits Dance Party Vol. 2 - featuring the Deja Vu and Natalie Browne singles - proved to be the label's best-selling compilation in a year of fierce competition in the dance compilation market. In the Summer of 1998, Interhit teamed with BOP Magazine - America's #1 teen magazine - to produce BOP Boys! - a collection of the best of the red-hot 'boy band' sound. The BOP Boys! companion video marked Interhit's first foray into the world of commercial video. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the year came with the Fall release of The Dance Album by the legendary 'King of Romance' Engelbert Humperdinck ! Featuring six newly-recorded dance versions of Engelbert's greatest hits, plus five new songs, The Dance Album is already off to a great start with an impressive amount of national TV coverage and a debut single Release Me / Gotta Get Release that is shaping up to be Interhit's biggest Billboard club hit yet. The Dance Album is being released across Europe in late 1998 and early 1999 via Arcade Music.

With 1999 on the horizon, look for more hot new releases from Interhit, including Mega Hits Dance Party Vol. 3 featuring Cynthiana's new smash single Thank U, along with new music from Abigail, Thunderpuss 2000, D&G Kore and more.

Piece Of My Heart remix (10th Jun 2003)

The name Intermission stands for the popular and charismatic singer Lori Glori, who gives the productions a special groove. The relevant Intermission sound comes from the successful producer team Michael Eisele and Dietmar Stehle, in short DMP (Dance Music Production) - who are already wellknown, as well as his company, for successful acts like Captain Hollywood Project and Loft. The vocalist Nina, and the producers Attack II et G. Schein (of Captain Hollywood Project) also took part to Intermission.

The first single Honesty was released in 1993 and reached # 18 Israel and in Germany. The follow-up Piece Of My Heart, a very smooth and melodic track featuring Valerie Scott, did better in the charts, since it was # 11 in Israel and # 8 Germany (and stayed 12 weeks inside the top 20 in this country). Six Days, released during the summer 1994, entered the German Charts on the 11th October 1994, peaked up to # 20, and stayed in the charts during 11 weeks... In the singles's credits one could read the name "G. Grab", which stood for Gerd Grabowski (a German singer aka G.G. Anderson).

Give Peace A Chance featured once again Lori Glori. It entered the German charts on the 21st November 1994, and did a little less well, peaking to #29, and staying 12 weeks.

In 1995, the follow-up Planet Love (featuring Raquel Gomez) entered the German charts on th 31st July 1995, climbed up to rank #24 and stayed there 12 weeks. The next year, Miracle Of Love did not do that well, since it only stayed 2 weeks in the German charts (during March 1996), unable to reach better than #87.

In 1997 they released the progressive trance single Blow Your Mind, which featured DJ M.A.R.S.S and Lori Glori back on vocals. Music was composed by Dietmar Stehle and Ralf Stehle. Lyrics were written by Dietmar Stehle, Ralf Stehle, Alex R. Belcher and Lori Hölzel.

2003 : they released a remix of their hit Piece Of My Heart; this time featuring Grey & Frost. The single included 3 mixes : Grey B Frost Club Mix, Dito Remix, Andre Visior Vocal Club.

2005 : in September, Six Days was covered by a project called Hypersonic feat AM4.

2006 : Piece Of My Heart was covered by Jan Wayne. The vinyl was released on 16th October.
